After 2 albums of underground transgressive rock, the band started mixing it with Latin American rhythms such a cumbia, chacarera, candombe and cuartetazo. The lyrics, though, remained acid and critical of political and social problems.
The current line-up is: Gustavo Cordera (voice), Juan Subirá (keyboards and voice), Carlos Martín (drums), Oscar Righi (guitar), "Pepe" Céspedes (bass guitar and voice), Daniel Suárez (voice), Alberto Verenzuela (guitar), and "Cóndor" Sbarbatti (voice and charango); previous members include Charly Bianco (guitar and voice) and Rubén Sadrinas (voice).
Honoring the psychiatric hospital José Tiburcio Borda in Buenos Aires, La Bersuit performs dressed in characteristic pajamas; even though the story of Cordera spending some time in that institution is a mere urban legend, the band has an affinity with everything related to madness and marginalization.
Besides the big success, first in the Buenos Aires' underground movement and then in all the country, Bersuit Vergarabat harvested fans from many countries in South America as well as in Spain.

Como un fusil cargado
Tirando a cualquier lado
Es resignación
O es la lucidez
Antes del final
Suelo bucear
En un mar hirviendo
Hoy viajo solo y sin volver
Será que el resto es languidecer
Me gusta estar cayendo
Voy esperando el impacto
Dejaré
Mis sueños vencidos
Para otra ocasión
Como un Big Bang
Quiero estrellarme
Cerca de la eternidad
Y hoy viajo solo y sin volver
Será que el resto es languidecer
Me gusta estar cayendo
Voy esperando el impacto
Y en el abismo me encontraré
Y en la caída te nombraré
Me gusta estar cayendo
Voy esperando el impacto
Algo falló
Todo sigue estando
Algo cambió
Todo sigue igual que ayer
Sigo esperando el impacto
Sigo esperando el impacto
Voy esperando el impacto
The lyrics of Bersuit Vergarabat's song Esperando El Impacto (Waiting for the Impact) convey the idea of someone who feels lost and wondering where to go next. The first line "¿A dónde iré?" (Where will I go?) reflects this sense of uncertainty. The person compares themselves to a loaded gun shooting in any direction, indicating the feeling of being out of control. They are questioning if their resignation is a choice or a state of lucidity, suggesting their current circumstances are leading them to despair.
The lines "Suelo bucear en un mar hirviendo de cara a la libertad" (I usually dive into a boiling sea facing freedom) expresses the character's desire to escape and find freedom. They are willing to let go of their dreams for another time, and like a Big Bang, they want to crash near eternity. Although they are travelling alone without returning, they like the feeling of falling, and they are waiting for the impact. The impact can be interpreted in different ways - either as a literal blow or as a metaphor for change.
The repeated line "Me gusta estar cayendo, voy esperando el impacto" (I like to be falling, waiting for the impact) emphasizes the person's desire for transformation, for something to happen, and for change to come. However, the last lines "Algo falló, todo sigue estando algo cambió, todo sigue igual que ayer" (Something went wrong, everything is still the same, something changed, everything is still the same as yesterday) suggest that things are not moving forward; a realization that will lead to an encounter with the void, and they will find themselves in the abyss.
