After 2 albums of underground transgressive rock, the band started mixing it with Latin American rhythms such a cumbia, chacarera, candombe and cuartetazo. The lyrics, though, remained acid and critical of political and social problems.
The current line-up is: Gustavo Cordera (voice), Juan Subirá (keyboards and voice), Carlos Martín (drums), Oscar Righi (guitar), "Pepe" Céspedes (bass guitar and voice), Daniel Suárez (voice), Alberto Verenzuela (guitar), and "Cóndor" Sbarbatti (voice and charango); previous members include Charly Bianco (guitar and voice) and Rubén Sadrinas (voice).
Honoring the psychiatric hospital José Tiburcio Borda in Buenos Aires, La Bersuit performs dressed in characteristic pajamas; even though the story of Cordera spending some time in that institution is a mere urban legend, the band has an affinity with everything related to madness and marginalization.
Besides the big success, first in the Buenos Aires' underground movement and then in all the country, Bersuit Vergarabat harvested fans from many countries in South America as well as in Spain.

Humor Linyera
Bersuit Vergarabat Lyrics

The lyrics of "Humor Linyera" by Bersuit Vergarabat speak to the idea that actions may be dormant or overlooked, buried beneath a stack of mundane and uninteresting words. The linyera, or homeless person, is portrayed as being covered by wet newspapers, suggesting the idea that their existence is dampened and overshadowed by the deluge of insignificant news and noise that surrounds them. The singer finds inspiration and motivation in the tireless persistence of the rising sun, which represents a hopeful and unwavering force.
The lyrics also touch on the concept of ideas being lost or hidden away in vast libraries, neglected by those who are preoccupied with grandiose names and memorable stories. These creators aimed to build a better world, but instead found persecution and intolerance. The singer once believed that books contained the souls of those who were committed to the pursuit of absolute truth, using their energy and intelligence to disrupt the lives of future generations. However, the books are now portrayed as lacking in both love and art, filled with gods but lacking a true religion.
The final two stanzas describe a life that is not forgotten, where the scent of a flower can bring renewed energy and hope. The rain provides a somber background music for melancholic thoughts, while the linyera, who consumes his wine with neither future nor end, mocks the unhappy people around him. The song ends with the linyera laughing at the happy people, toasting to failure and refusing to leave.
