After 2 albums of underground transgressive rock, the band started mixing it with Latin American rhythms such a cumbia, chacarera, candombe and cuartetazo. The lyrics, though, remained acid and critical of political and social problems.
The current line-up is: Gustavo Cordera (voice), Juan Subirá (keyboards and voice), Carlos Martín (drums), Oscar Righi (guitar), "Pepe" Céspedes (bass guitar and voice), Daniel Suárez (voice), Alberto Verenzuela (guitar), and "Cóndor" Sbarbatti (voice and charango); previous members include Charly Bianco (guitar and voice) and Rubén Sadrinas (voice).
Honoring the psychiatric hospital José Tiburcio Borda in Buenos Aires, La Bersuit performs dressed in characteristic pajamas; even though the story of Cordera spending some time in that institution is a mere urban legend, the band has an affinity with everything related to madness and marginalization.
Besides the big success, first in the Buenos Aires' underground movement and then in all the country, Bersuit Vergarabat harvested fans from many countries in South America as well as in Spain.

No recés pidiendo auxilio

The song "No seas parca" by Bersuit Vergarabat tells the story of the singer and his encounter with "La Parca" or "death" itself. The lyrics describe how death was close by, looking at the singer with affection, before finally leaving without saying a word. The singer then reflects on death's unpredictable behavior; sometimes it goes after easy prey, but at other times it seeks vendettas against the living. In the end, the singer recognizes that death is an inevitable companion in life's race, and asks why death sometimes interferes with our most desired goals while other times it seems to ignore everything.
The song is a reflection on the topic of mortality and the inevitability of death. The singer's encounter with death and his subsequent reflection on its behavior and unpredictability underscore the idea that death is a constant presence in life, but also one that varies in its actions and impact.
One interesting fact about the song is that it was originally released in 1998 as part of the album "Libertinaje". The album was a commercial success and helped cement Bersuit Vergarabat as one of the most important Argentine rock bands of the time.
Another interesting fact about the song is that it has been covered by several other artists, including Zeta Bosio (former bassist of Soda Stereo) and Los Auténticos Decadentes.

La Parca estuvo cerca,
The Grim Reaper was near,
Me miraba con cariño,
She looked at me fondly,
Asomó por la ventana y sonrió.
She peeked through the window and smiled.
Husmeaba la carnada,
She sniffed around for prey,
Aunque nunca tocó nada,
Although she never touched anything,
Después, sin saludar, se las tomó.
Then, without saying goodbye, she left.
Supongamos que la pesca
Let's suppose that the catch
No le pareció muy fresca,
Did not seem very fresh to her,
O algún otro negocio la espantó.
Or some other business scared her off.
Pero, cuando anda agreta
But, when she is in a bad mood
Va y te hace la vendetta,
She takes her revenge on you,
Es que detesta al displicente vividor,
Because she hates the careless and complacent living,

Why spread a dark rumor here,
justo al lugar al que tanto deseaba llegar?
Right where she wanted to arrive?

She is my infallible companion
