After 2 albums of underground transgressive rock, the band started mixing it with Latin American rhythms such a cumbia, chacarera, candombe and cuartetazo. The lyrics, though, remained acid and critical of political and social problems.
The current line-up is: Gustavo Cordera (voice), Juan Subirá (keyboards and voice), Carlos Martín (drums), Oscar Righi (guitar), "Pepe" Céspedes (bass guitar and voice), Daniel Suárez (voice), Alberto Verenzuela (guitar), and "Cóndor" Sbarbatti (voice and charango); previous members include Charly Bianco (guitar and voice) and Rubén Sadrinas (voice).
Honoring the psychiatric hospital José Tiburcio Borda in Buenos Aires, La Bersuit performs dressed in characteristic pajamas; even though the story of Cordera spending some time in that institution is a mere urban legend, the band has an affinity with everything related to madness and marginalization.
Besides the big success, first in the Buenos Aires' underground movement and then in all the country, Bersuit Vergarabat harvested fans from many countries in South America as well as in Spain.

Se Viene

Se viene el estallido
De mi guitarra
De tu gobierno, también
Se viene el estallido
Se viene el estallido
De mi guitarra
Y si te viene alguna duda
Vení agarrala que está dura
Si esto no es una dictadura
Que es? Que es?
Se viene el estallido
Se viene el estallido
De mi garganta
De tu infierno, también
Y ya no hay ninguna duda
Se está pudriendo esta basura
Fisura ya la dictadura
Del rey!
Volió la mala fue corta la primavera
Cerdos miserables comiendo lo que nos queda
Se llevaron la noche, nuestra única alegría
Gente poniendo huevos
Para salir de esta rutina
Se viene el estallido
The lyrics to Bersuit Vergarabat's song "Se Viene" express the idea that something big and explosive is about to happen. The repetition of the phrase "Se viene el estallido" (The explosion is coming) adds to the sense of imminent chaos. What is interesting about the song is that it does not directly state what that explosion is or what it represents, leaving it open to interpretation. However, from the context of the lyrics, it can be inferred that the explosion refers to some form of revolution or rebellion against a corrupt government.
The lyrics go on to suggest that the singer's guitar and voice are the sources of this explosion. This could be interpreted as a metaphor for the power of music and art to incite change and rebellion. The line "De tu gobierno también" (From your government too) implies that the explosion will affect the ruling government as well, highlighting the idea that the people are rising up against an oppressive regime.
The phrase "Y si te viene alguna duda / Vení agarrala que está dura / Si esto no es una dictadura / Que es? Que es?" (And if you have any doubts / come grab onto them because they're hard / If this isn't a dictatorship / what is it? What is it?) suggests that the current situation is so dire that it warrants questioning whether it is a dictatorship. The line "Fisura ya la dictadura del rey!" (Fissure the dictatorship of the king!) is a call to action, urging people to actively resist the oppressive government.
Overall, Bersuit Vergarabat's "Se Viene" is a powerful and politically charged song that encourages rebellion against an oppressive regime. The song's iconic phrase "Se viene el estallido" has become synonymous with revolution and rebellion in Argentine music culture.
