He was born in Hamburg, Germany, and studied at the School of Music there. A multi-instrumentalist, he was hired by Hans Busch to play with his orchestra before serving as a bandsman in the German Navy during World War II. He later formed his own big band, toured with them, then worked as an arranger and producer, making hit records with Freddy Quinn and Ivo Robic. In 1961, he hired The Beatles to back Tony Sheridan on "My Bonnie (Lies Over the Ocean)," "When the Saints Go Marching In," "Ain't She Sweet" and "Cry for a Shadow," in a session for Polydor. These turned out to be the Beatles' first commercial recordings. When Beatles manager Brian Epstein asked Kaempfert about further promoting The Beatles, Kaempfert informed Epstein that the company was only interested in The Beatles as Tony Sheridan's backup group. (It also turned out British Decca executive Dick Rowe turned them down in favor of local beat combo Brian Poole and the Tremeloes.) He then released The Beatles from their contract with Polydor.
Rose Room

A little room where all the roses bloom
I want to lead you into Nature's hall
Where ev'ry year the roses give a ball
They have an orchestra up in the trees
For their musicians are the birds and bees
And they will sing us a song
As we are strolling along
In sunny Roseland, where summer breezes are playing
Where the honey bees are "A-Maying"
There all the roses are swaying
Dancing while the meadow brook flows
The moon when shining is more than ever designing
For 'tis ever then I am pining
Pining to be sweetly reclining
Somewhere in Roseland
Beside a beautiful rose
The ball is over and tulips meet
Their little kisses are so short and sweet
The lilies nod to the forget-me-nots
When they're departing in their flower pots
But all the roses with their spirits high
Remain to love until they droop and die
And dear, why shouldn't it be
Just so with you and with me
In sunny Roseland, where summer breezes are playing
Where the honey bees are "A-Maying"
There all the roses are swaying
Dancing while the meadow brook flows
The moon when shining is more than ever designing
For 'tis ever then I am pining Pining to be sweetly reclining
Somewhere in Roseland
Beside a beautiful rose
The song "Rose Room" by Bert Kaempfert is a beautiful ode to the romanticism of nature during summertime. In the lyrics, the singer invites someone to a room where all the roses are in bloom, leading them to Nature's hall, where every year the roses hold a ball. The roses' orchestra is made up of the music of the birds and bees, who sing a song while the singer and their companion stroll along.
The chorus of the song evokes the beauty and enchantment of Roseland, where the summer breezes are playing, the flowers are swaying, and the meadow brook flows. The moon shining is an inspiration, with the singer pining to be sweetly reclining somewhere in Roseland beside a beautiful rose. The ball is over, and the tulips give their little kisses as the lilies nod to the forget-me-nots when they depart, leaving only the Roses to love until they droop and die.
In summary, "Rose Room" is a romantic song filled with the imagery and beauty of nature, inviting listeners to imagine strolling through a garden of roses amid the sounds of the birds and bees.
