I’m a trans guy and had always felt guilty about loving the Indiana Jones franchise and I finally got to watch my first Indiana Jones movie on the big screen for 5. (I’d only watched the first one in secret, by myself and I only knew the story through the Lego games my cousin and I would play together, lol)

As soon as the credits rolled, the theme song came blaring and there was a little voice in my mind that told me to slow down and enjoy the moment, even though everyone was getting up and leaving their seats.

I leaned back in my chair, closed my eyes, and listened the whole way through. I felt a wave of relief and euphoria wash over me. This song held so much healing in it for me, and I’m honored to have experienced it and to reclaim the moments that I had kept hidden away and was too scared to tell anyone about.

I came home and sobbed for 20 minutes, that’s how powerful this moment was. There was magic in the room and magic in this soundtrack, that’s for sure. Now that I’m not afraid of liking Indiana Jones anymore, I’m gonna go back and watch the originals!! 👏✨

If Universal studios hadn't been a bunch of jerks, Tom Selleck would have been Indiana Jones. George Lucas and Steven Spielberg had cast Selleck as Indiana but Selleck had done the Magnum PI pilot and signed a contract that if it was picked up as a series, he would play Magnum. Universal wouldn't let him do Raiders due to the shooting schedule for Magnum. As it turned out, there was a writers' strike which stopped all production for six months. Selleck could have done Raiders as filming on that had wrapped before Magnum started filming the series. Selleck said that the saddest part was when he was sitting around in Hawaii doing handyman jobs to get some money, Lucas, Spielberg and Ford were in Hawaii filming the opening sequence of Raiders in which Indy is supposed to be in South America getting the gold statuette.

i remember that me and my 2 brothers would play it on the wii for hours during the weekends. completing every mission, secret, and cheat. Hell i think we got about 99% completion or something but the main thing that i remember is that we got all the coin boosters so that our multiplier was like x2600 or something for a silver coin or something so that which led to who could get the highest billion in coins during missions, the endless stream of coins that went into the end mission report lasted for minutes on end. we maxed out the amount of coins the game could have (9,000,000,000) or something, we had completed all the statues in the museum area and had all the characters including c3po and Han solo. ah the memories are nostalgic to think on how much we played LEGO Indiana Jones..

Like… I was very much given only “girl’s” things, from everyone in my life. I was pretty brainwashed and I wasn’t able to cut my hair short until after I turned 18. I was a “good” kid, so it didn’t even come into question to do otherwise. I learned what being trans was at the age of 16, and had to learn everything about it through the Internet.

One of my earliest memories was in pre-k was when Santa came, and gave all the little girls baby dolls and boys toy trucks. I thought that since Santa was magical he’d know I was secretly a boy and give me a truck. I was rightfully upset, but I got a purple baby doll to soften the blow.

That shit hurts, even to this day.

Harrison Fords's best role in my eyes will always be Indiana Jones. I loved him as Han. I loved him as Deckard. But here, he felt perfect for the role as a world trekking archeologist and explorer. He was the quintessential badass of the 80s. While Star Wars was always his moneymaker and most popular role, his turn as Dr. Jones is what lasts forever in my eyes.

My father loved this series and passed away 4 days ago, I can't listen to this without crying.

Edit: thank you all for the support, every time I get a notification from here it makes me both happy and sad, thank you all for the support. He had one of the jackets made by the guy that made the one for the movies, I had it sitting in my house I had to move out of recently, it had really bad mold, the jacket had to go to a special cleaner but within like a year or so it will be fine to take out of storage, my dad was a little kid when he saw the movie, he was obsessed with it, it was a big role in his life, he was a great man, Miss you dad.
