She has also starred as Michelle Bauer Santos on the CBS Daytime soap opera Guiding Light and is recognized for her music as a solo artist and as a member of the band Everly.
Prior to One Tree Hill, Galeotti spent most of her acting career on the stage. She has called Musical theater her passion, and has performed in various productions of "Annie", "The Wizard of Oz", "Gypsy", "Cinderella", etc.
Since Lenz's exit from Guilding Light she has completed a demo of original music. Trained by the director of The Brooklyn College of Opera, Lenz plays the guitar and piano, and writes her own music. Her first album, entitled Preincarnate was released in October 2002 . Lenz continues to release new music oftentimes through her character Haley James Scott. In 2005, after recording "When the Stars Go Blue" with costar Tyler Hilton, the duo joined The Wreckers and Gavin DeGraw for a 25-city North American One Tree Hill Tour that started in Vancouver. Lenz and Hilton scored the #89 spot on February 2005's Billboard Pop 100 chart with the duet "When the Stars Go Blue." While on tour, Lenz debuted her second independent record entitled, Come On Home. Despite her hectic schedule during the tour, Lenz also filmed her first music video for "Songs in My Pockets" at Coney Island Beach and Astroland in Brooklyn, New York. In 2006 alongside ex-American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi, Lenz co-wrote and recorded "Halo" which was released in the second volume of the One Tree Hill Soundtrack. During this time, Lenz inked a deal with Sony Epic Records and worked with her producer, Ron Aniello to record original material. However, in 2006 after changes within the company, Lenz split from the label. Despite the musical setback, that same year Galeotti traveled to Los Angeles to write and record several songs for the soundtrack for Ten Inch Hero. Lenz's split with Epic allowed her to open new doors in her music career and since then she has decided to sign under the independent record label Hillasterion. In 2008, Lenz took her music to new grounds and formed the band Everly with her lifelong friend, Amber Sweeney. Immediately after the duo was formed, Everly, musical acts Angels & Airwaves, and Kate Voegele teamed up with the USO for a live concert event for military personnel. The USO concert was filmed and formed the basis for a One Tree Hill episode, titled Even Fairy Tale Characters Would Be Jealous.

i never promised you a ray of light
i never promised there'd be sunshine everyday
i'll give you everything i have
the good, the bad
why do you put me on a pedestal?
im so up high that i cant see the ground below
i dont belong there
one thing is clear
i wear a halo, i wear a halo when you look at me
but standing from here
you wouldnt say so,
you wouldnt say so if you were me
and i, i just wanna love you
whoa whoa i, i just wanna love you
i always said that i would make mistakes
im only human and thats my saving grace
i'll fall as hard as i try
so dont be blinded
see me as i really am
i have flaws and sometimes i even sin
so pull me from that pedestal
i dont belong there
one thing is clear
i wear a halo,
i wear a halo when you look at me
but standing from here,
you wouldnt say so,
you wouldnt say so if you were me
and i, i just wanna love you
whoa whoa i, i just wanna love you
like you think that you know me
but in your eyes
i am something worthy
only in your mind
only in your mind
i wear a, i wear a
i wear a halo
one thing is clear
i wear a halo
i wear a halo when you look at me
but standing from here, you wouldnt say so
you wouldnt say so if you were me
and i, i just wanna love you
whoa whoa i , i just wanna love you
haha ha ha halo (x9)
The song "Halo" by Bethany Joy Lenz speaks to the idea of being put on a pedestal in a relationship, and the pressure that can come with it. The lyrics express the singer's awareness that they are being idealized and seen as perfect, leading to doubts and insecurities about whether their partner truly sees them for who they are. The chorus repeats the metaphor of wearing a halo, symbolizing the pedestal on which the singer has been placed. Despite this, the singer seeks to be seen and loved for their true self, flaws and all.
The song touches on themes of authenticity and acceptance in a romantic relationship. The singer acknowledges that they are imperfect, but also valid and worthy of love. This message is reinforced by the repeated refrain of "I just wanna love you," a plea for acceptance from the other person. The song encourages a mutual understanding and love that transcends the idealized image of the other person.
Overall, "Halo" is a powerful anthem for anyone who has felt the pressure to be perfect in a relationship, and a reminder that true love comes from seeing and accepting each other for who we truly are.
