Breakdown
Better Than Toast Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Waiting for you
Tell me, how've you been?
It's been so long since I have seen you show your face
Since you've been around this place
Please tell me what went wrong
I don't think you've had enough
Breakdown
You know everything is going wrong
Breakdown
Things I've kept inside me for so long
Cause everything is getting clearer and I'm better off
Breakdown
You know I can't stop it now
Now it's time you now
Feeling like I've got nowhere to go
Show me something I can do to be with you
Something I can try that's new
Just give me anything
Let's go tonight
Towards the city
Stare toward the light
The sun is setting much to fast
Wondering how long that we can last
Before it fades away
The song Breakdown by Better Than Toast is about a person who is waiting for someone they care about to come back. It's evident from the lyrics that the person has been waiting for a long time and hasn't seen the other person show up. The singer is asking, "how've you been?" and would like an explanation for their absence. They want to know what went wrong and why the other person hasn't shown up. The singer seems to know that holding on won't help and that the other person needs to let go, but they also want to be with them.
The chorus of the song is referring to the breakdown of their relationship. Everything is going wrong, and the singer has kept things bottled up inside for so long. But now, they've realized that everything is getting clearer, and they're better off having a breakdown. The singer is on the verge of a mental and emotional breakdown and can't stop it from happening. The person they're waiting for may be the only one who can save them from it.
In the second verse, the singer is feeling lost and doesn't know what to do. They're hoping the other person can suggest something they can try to be with them. The chorus repeats, suggesting that the relationship is in trouble and the singer is struggling to hold on.
Overall, the song is about a relationship that's gone wrong, and the singer is waiting for the other person to come back. They're on the brink of a breakdown, and it seems like the other person may be their only hope.

Anyone can put a cash discount into their system.. if all customers ordered and paid online or via app/tablet you can reduce labor drastically.. I’m speaking as a quick serve restaurant owner. 90% take out. Literally 25% in labor if all orders were made and paid for online. Employees just pull tickets and focus on making the food vs having to stop and take calls and orders. Would never think this way but covid forced the process and we did more sales with less staff. Allowed us to pay staff much more and still profit!

Currently hunting for a new pos system to replace toast. The hardware fails constantly. The dip/card tap readers fail. Each pos screen has 3 spots that you can plug the card reader in and as soon as they all inevitably fail, you have to purchase a new screen all together. I’m 2 years into my contract and willing to keep paying toast for the duration of my contract and still get a new POS system because it has failed so much that it’s costing me more money and business than I will lose.

If you tell us a little bit more about your business, we can recommend a strong POS that can eliminate a lot of those issues that come with Toast. We have a list of 15 different POS systems to choose from. We've switched hundreds of businesses from Toast already. Book a call with us, and we can get you a live Facetime/Zoom demo. https://cotsuji.clickfunnels.com/optintbeuuyx4

Also, depending on how much monthly sales your business does, our processing company can cover the majority of the cost of the POS. So it's very little out of pocket for you

I am curious. Who pays for the credit card processing fees for credit card tips? The business, server, or guest?
@nicholasthompson8351
Depends on state. Added to prices in some places,.. paid by servers using the CC in most. (Why servers prefer cash)
@mirandawilliams9281
Processing fees are not paid for by servers. Processing fees are paid for by the business or the customer if the business sets their system up to put the fee on the customer. It comes out of your deposit from your credit card sales. Servers prefer cash so they can not claim it as income and pay taxes on it. It has nothing to do with credit card processing fees. They have to pay taxes on credit card tips because they aren’t hidden. Cash tips can be hidden. I was a server for almost a decade and now own a restaurant.
