We have many clever ways to avoid being productive.

Misused intelligence seems like a crime.
When we use our intelligence in ways that don't benefit society, it feels wrong.

Internet gossip got you glued to the screen.
We are addicted to gossip and social media, and this prevents us from engaging with the world.

Ignoring the world beyond your five favourite zines.
We are so focused on our own interests that we fail to engage with important global issues.

And I'm sorry for the apathy.
I regret being indifferent and uninvolved.

And I'm sorry for the lethargy.
I apologize for being unenergetic and unmotivated.

Won't let it get a hold of me.
I refuse to let these negative attitudes and behaviors control me.

Cause I won't settle for mediocrity.
I strive for excellence and refuse to accept average or ordinary outcomes.

I heard your plans,

I won't criticize,
I won't judge or condemn you.

I've got no use for it.
I see no benefit in criticizing others.

Its plain to see we've lost sight of our goals.
We have become distracted and unfocused on what we truly want to achieve.

We are more concerned with impressing others than being true to ourselves.

Is that what -
Is that truly what we want?

Is that what we consider success.
Are we defining success by external validation rather than personal fulfillment?

Consider success.
We should reflect on our own definition of success and what truly brings us happiness and fulfillment.
