Friends From '96
Between You & Me Lyrics

The sunlight hits my eyes through the glass that lays in between
And this air seems colder than it used to be
As I look out the window I feel disconnected
From everyone who said they'd always be there

Is there anyone out there that still gives a damn?
Who kept common interest and cared?
Never thought that I'd be here
I just miss my friends from '96
As I sat there alone, I still remember
A cold afternoon replayed in my head
As I look out the window of my train to the city
The memories come flooding back
It's hard for me, it's filling my head

Is there anyone out there that still gives a damn?
Who kept common interest and cared?
Just a picture to show all the times that we had
And I'll keep it framed in my head

Surely you miss me
At least just pretend
For the sake of our friends
Never thought that I'd be here

Watch you drift away
Was it too hard to stay?
Your ship set sail but I'm still here

Is there anyone out there who still gives a damn?

Is there anyone out there that still gives a damn?
Who kept common interest and cared?
Just a picture to show all the times that we had
And I'll keep it framed in my head

Surely you miss me
At least just pretend
For the sake of our friends
Never thought that I'd be here
I just miss my friends from '96

this band will be the newest big thing in pop punk. it seems they have all the right pieces and with the proper exposure and marketing they'll catch on pretty quick. already noticing a lot of people i talk to are very excited about this new record

Blake McConnell Itโ€™s ok.

I remember coming home from a roadtrip a couple years ago reinvigorated from the trip and from being away from my 8-5 job and listening to their cover of "Nerve" by TSS over and over again the next couple days until I had to return to work. That trip had lead to me kind of "rekindling" that flame of pursuing what I really wanted. I went back to work and things stayed the same but kept up with BYAM and their releases. I think I'm ready to call in on all those aspirations as I just left my finance job and am ready to move out of my comfort zone on my own. This band will ever be associated with my personal goals - not just financial/career milestones I reach and wonder why I still feel a bit empty inside. Much love.

I thought this was going to be acoustic, but then the chorus came in. And the contrast works so well here. Well done guys. :)
