She had her greatest success in the early 90s, and is best known for the hit "Promise Me" which hit Number 3 in the UK singles chart in 1991 and is taken from her self-titled debut album released in 1990. Craven achieved another five entries in the same chart over the next two years.
After first meeting backstage at a Tears for Fears concert, Craven married singer/songwriter Colin Campsie, and the couple now have three daughters. Campsie and Craven used to own the top & bottom flats in a three-storey house in London. When the person in the middle moved out, they bought the flat and converted the building back into one house. The family now live in Buckinghamshire.
She survived Breast cancer in 2005, and was given the all clear in February 2006.
Woman To Woman

I don't see you for weeks on end
When I call 'cause I need to talk
I feel like I'm taking up your time
There are things that I can only say
To a woman, face to face
But you're occupied almost every night
Woman to woman
He came and took possession
Now you never come around and talk
Woman to woman (woman to woman)
No, because I don't matter
Now you've fallen in love
Two is company and three's a crowd
Like my father I'm much too proud
If it falls apart and he breaks your heart
There'll be tears on the telephone again
And where are you when I'm the one who needs
Consolation while my heart bleeds
Saying "Look it's late, can I break our date?"
Did no one tell you that it's give and take?
Woman to woman
He came and took possession
Now you never come around and talk
Woman to woman (woman to woman)
No, because I don't matter
Now you've fallen in love
Woman to woman
He came and took possession
Now you never come around and talk
Woman to woman
No, because I don't matter
Now you've fallen in love
(Woman to woman)
He came and took possession
Now you never come around and talk
Woman to woman
He came and took possession
Because you fall in love
He came and took possession
Woman to woman
Fall in love (woman to woman)
He came and took possession
In Beverley Craven's song "Woman to Woman", the singer is expressing her frustration and disappointment towards her friend who has disappeared from her life since getting a new boyfriend. The singer is trying to reach out to her friend, but feels like she is taking up her friend's time and is being disregarded. The singer has a secret and needs advice, but her friend is always occupied every night. The singer is hurt that her friend has fallen in love and has neglected their friendship. She is worried that if her friend's relationship falls apart, she will be the one left to console her friend despite being ignored and neglected when she needed her friend the most. The singer wants to have a heart-to-heart conversation with her friend about the importance of a friendship and the need to balance it with romantic relationships.
The song is relatable for many women who have experienced a similar situation in their friendship. It highlights the importance of maintaining relationships with friends even when in a romantic relationship. The song also underscores the importance of having a support system during difficult times and the need for give-and-take in friendships.
