Its crazy but her live performances of this song sound sooo much better than this studio recording. On stage, she gives much more emotion and gritty vocals and takes it to church. Also, the band changed the background live and her background singers stay out of the way...particularly her live performance of it from the "Life is But A Dream" documentary, although Im almost positive that was her Revel Atlantic City performance, which was her 1st performance after having Blue. Same thing with "I Care" - she sounds better singing it live and gives way more than she does in the studio. Not many artists can sing live better than in the studio, but Bey is such a skilled vocalist. I dont think Ive ever heard her sing live and suck...she hits EVERY single note and adds extra runs, while dancing, while running around, while head banging, while doing a 20 song 2 hour set, without EVER lip syncing or having her backup dancers take over parts of the song so she can catch her breath like other artists do, and like I said she really makes her live performances better than the studio recordings. Thats why she is winning and she has no competiton in the game right now.

I'm not too big a fan of Beyonce, but this is one her songs that really hits home...Just imagine knowing someone for almost your entire life, and eventually falling in love with them. Imagine being with them for some years, and being happier than you've ever been. Then, imagine them suddenly leaving you to be with someone else.
