What I truly love about this video, is when she sings about girls, you can tell she's also singing to all the women around the world that are dealing with adversaries due to their sex. I love that the dancers are extremely diverse. It makes me feel so warm and empowered inside. It reminds me that women need to remember that we need to stay strong in a world like this that takes advantage of us because of what we are born as. @M B a lot actually. Roe v. Wade is a prime example of time going backwards. Women now are put all in the same box as Instagram models in all kinds of comparisons by passport bros and Samuel Jackson praisers so it makes dating impossible. It's bad enough black women are automatically assumed as masculine. Even ones that are the opposite of what every man likes to compare in their red pill blue pill bs. So women still deal with misogyny just in a different light. And that will never go away in a "man's world." Still deal with being taken advantage of and blamed even when it comes to be assaulted (both domestic and sexual), kidnapped, or murdered. Not saying men don't go through that as well. It's sad that they're overlooked in stuff like that. Even when it comes having custody of their kids being great fathers.

And I never denied men of their brunt too. And I know they get a lot of it. I watch and I'm subscribed to MTR, ARAKO TV, and a lot of other masculine bro before ho energy channels. And again, I don't deny the grime for a second every time I watch their compilations. Women may have more freedom now, but that doesn't mean that women don't have struggles of their own in this world. Just like men do as well. It's still not cushy or comfortable. I've been with my bf for two years. We both go to work and deal with shit differently day by day. And that's all I'm saying. It shouldn't be questioned. It's just facts. Especially since Beyonce is an admitted feminist and this song is literally catered to women going day by day staying strong while dealing with womanly issues. Lol

I remember when this song first came out. Everyone had something to say about it (myself included). Looking back, I'm glad she pushed this song and still pushing it. It made her the artist she is today. An artist who has no boundaries in music. She goes against the grain and it works FOR HER. The 4 album was a true gumbo of sounds (as she stated) and is a R&B classic that hasn't got the recognition she deserved. Clive Davis was right in giving her the title "First Lady of Music". She touched nearly every genre of music and it sounds organic.
