Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Beyoncé began performing in local competitions at age 7, eventually forming the group Girl's Tyme in 1990 with help from her parents. Girl's Tyme became Destiny's Child in 1997.
During the hiatus of Destiny's Child in 2003, Beyoncé released her debut solo album, Dangerously in Love, which became one of the most successful albums of that year, and signaled her viability as a solo artist. The disbanding of Destiny's Child in 2005 facilitated her continued success: her sophomore solo album B'Day, released in 2006, debuted at number one on the Billboard charts. Her third solo album, I Am… Sasha Fierce, was released in November 2008, and in 2009 she received 10 Grammy Awards nominations. On January 31, 2010, she won 6 Grammy Awards, breaking the record for most Grammy awards won by a female artist in one night; she previously held the record of five awards with 5 other artists. Following a career hiatus, Beyoncé released her fourth studio album entitled "4" on June 24, 2011, which debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200.

"RENAISSANCE" was released on July 29, 2022, and was recorded during the COVID-19 pandemic, seeking to inspire joy in listeners. The album debuted at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. It became the best-rated album of 2022, named the best album of the year by publications such as the Los Angeles Times, The New York Times, NPR, Pitchfork, and Rolling Stone, which would later place the record at number 71 on their 500 Greatest Albums of All Time list. It then was nominated for Album of The Year at the 65 Annual Grammy Award Show and won Best Dance/Electronic Album.

That feels different
From when your hands are in mine
That's just the way it is
And when my voice is screaming out to my own ears
That feels different
From when I hear yours
Now that's just the way it is
After all these years
What I'm viewing is a little different
From what your eyes show you
I guess I didn't see myself before you
Moving forward
Super power
A subtle power
Super power
A tough love
Super power
Like a shark
Super power
Like a bear
A tough love
And I thought the world would move on
I thought the world would move on
Without us, without us, without us
But nothing I know could slow us down
Couldn't tow us down
I thought I could live without you
'Cause nothing I know can break us
Down
They can't break us down
And just like you I can't be scared
Just like you I hope I'm spared
But it's tough love
I know you feel it in the air
Even the babies know it's there
Tough love
Super power
The laws of the world tell us what goes sky
And what falls
It's a super power
Super power
The laws of the world never stopped us once
'Cause together we got plenty super power
Super power
A subtle power
Super power
A tough love
Super power
Like a shark
Super power
Too much to bare
Super power
And I thought the world would move on
I thought the world would move on
Without us, without us, without us
But nothing I know could slow us down
Couldn't tow us down
I thought I could live without you
But together we got plenty power
Nothing I know can break us down
They can't break us down
Yes we can
Couldn't break us down
They couldn't break us down
In the song "Superpower" by Beyoncé featuring Frank Ocean, the lyrics explore the power of love and the concept that being with someone can change your perception of yourself and the world around you. The first verse compares the feeling of holding one's own hands to holding someone else's hands, highlighting the difference in sensations between self-love and love with another person. The second verse talks about how being with someone can give one a new perspective on themselves and their image in the mirror.
The chorus speaks to the idea of having a "superpower" that comes from the strength of love. This power is compared to that of a shark or bear, and the song suggests that nothing in the world can stop it - even the laws of the universe. Beyoncé and Frank Ocean sing about a kind of love that can withstand anything and cannot be broken.
In the bridge, they acknowledge that tough love exists, but even babies can feel the unbreakable force of love. They both hope that they will be "spared" and that love will continue to be a superpower in their lives, despite any challenges that may arise.
Overall, "Superpower" is an exploration of the transformative power of love and the idea that being with someone else can change our perceptions of ourselves and the world around us. It suggests that love has a strength that is unmatched by anything in the universe and that it cannot be broken or slowed down.
