Disappear
Beyoncť Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

If I begged and if I cried
Would it change the sky tonight?
Would it give me some light?
Should I wait for you to call?
Is there any hope at all?
Are you drifting by

When I think about it
I know that I was never there or even cared
The more I think about it
The less that I was able to share with you
I try to reach for you, I
Can almost feel you you're nearly here
And then
You disappear (disappear, disappear, disappear)
You disappear (disappear, disappear, disappear)

And when I lie all by myself
I see your face, I hear your voice
My heart stays faithful
And time has come and time has passed
If it's good it's got to last
It feels so right

When I think about it
I know that I was never there or even cared
The more I think about it
The less that I was able to share with you
I try to reach for you, I
Can almost feel you, you're nearly here
And then
You disappear (disappear, disappear, disappear)
You disappear (disappear, disappear, disappear)
You, you disappear (disappear, disappear, disappear)
(You disappear)

I missed all the signs, one at a time
You were ready
What did I know?
Starting our lives
Now my love, I'm ready to show

When I think about it
I know that I was never there or even cared
The more I think about it
The less that I was able to share with you
I try to reach for you, I can almost feel you, you're nearly here
And then
You disappear
You disappear, you disappear

You disappear, disappear
You disappear

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Beyoncé's song Disappear reflect on a faded relationship and the singer's struggle to reconnect with a partner who has moved on. In the opening lines, Beyoncé questions whether her efforts would make a difference in repairing the broken relationship. She wonders if, by pleading and crying, she could change the course of events and bring back the spark they once had. But as she waits for her partner's call, she is left wondering if there is any hope left. The lines "Are you drifting by?" suggest that the partner has already moved on, and Beyoncé is just a distant memory.

The chorus echoes the sentiment of the opening lines as Beyoncé recalls the times she wasn't there for her partner, didn't care enough, and failed to share her world with them. She admits the more she thinks about it, the more she realizes they have little left between them. When she tries to reach out, they seem so close, and yet they keep disappearing.

In the second verse, Beyoncé talks about how she still sees her partner's face and hears their voice, even when they are not around. Her heart is faithful, and she wants to believe that their love will last. However, as she acknowledges in the chorus, they are on divergent paths, and her partner keeps slipping away.

Overall, the lyrics to Disappear are both melancholic and introspective, as Beyoncé reflects on a relationship that has run its course. The song is a reminder that even in the best of relationships, things can fall apart, and there comes a time to let go.

@@captainamerica9028 Geldof is on the voting committee and many musicians suck up to him. That may sound like a conspiracy but its not inconcievable that Bob would interfere.

Just before Duran Duran got into the R&R Hall last year, they tried to say that their horrible song about Michael was about drugs. INTERESTING - because articles from then have Duran saying they thought Michael shouldn't help Paula in her divorce. Hutchence was providing Paula a place to live as she was complaining that Bob was trying to put her on the street by causing her to get fired and not providing spousal support.

It came out on Oct 14 97 with horrible lyrics like "Stop wanting to be" and saying he was involved in someone elses war.. It was not about drugs as Duran later tried to say or a fan song.

Coroner found Michael was back in therapy on Oct 18th, renewed his prozac then he and Paula want to try Australia (For a few weeks before and after Christmas - returning to England for Christmas when Fifi got home from boarding school - they were never going to stay in Australia for Xmas)

Interesting that not only due Duran get into the R&R Hall right after their lies but on the 25th aniversary fo Michael's death - Nov 22. So any talk of Michael would be countered by Duran's lies.

Say I'm crying
I'm looking at what's on TV
Pain and suffering
And the struggle to be free
It can't ever be denied
And I never will ignore
But when I see you coming
I can take it all
You're so fine
Lose my mind
And the world seems to disappear
All the problems
All the fears
And the world seems to disappear
Say you're mine
And give yourself to the feelings that you know
I'm needing all that you can give me
All the things that you do so well
Words are healing
Sweet anticipation
Making spells as the shadows close in
Fall across all our yesterdays
You're so fine
Lose my mind
And the world seems to disappear
All the problems
All the fears
And the world seems to disappear
You're so fine
Lose my mind
And the world seems to disappear
All the problems
All the fears
And the world seems to disappear
Disappear
Disappear
Disappear
Disappear
Disappear
Disappear
Disappear
Say if I could
Look into myself and reason
But I could never never see
Or make sense of the dealings
Turn around
Am I looking at salvation
Make me realize all that I am
You put the light inside this man
You're so fine
Lose my mind
And the world seems to disappear
All the problems
All the fears
And the world seems to disappear
You're so fine
Lose my mind
And the world seems to disappear
All the problems
All the fears
And the world seems to disappear
You're so fine
Lose my mind
And the world seems to disappear
All the problems
All the fears
And the world seems to disappear

It's interesting to watch these old videos and see how people and music stars didn't need tattoos to show how cool and tough they were. They simply were cool in a natural way.
