I walked across the desert a thousand miles
I endured a long and difficult journey, a struggle that spanned a great distance.

Despite the challenges, I found a way to persevere and keep moving forward.

I suffered the consequences of my actions and decisions, and bore the burden of my choices.

When all of natures beauties wore off and died
The world around me lost its vibrancy and vitality, as though beauty and life were once again fleeting and temporary.

You promised me the heavens would make it right
You gave me lofty expectations and hopes, assuring me that there was something better and brighter waiting for me.

And I closed my eyes
I took your words at face value and believed in your promises, even if they weren't entirely truthful.

And trusted your lies
I put my faith in you, despite the fact that you deceived me and misled me through empty promises and false expectations.

My god is dead
My conception of a higher power or religious belief has died, or perhaps even betrayed me.

I pledged you my soul and my heart
I devoted myself entirely to a particular belief or ideology, giving it my all in faith and conviction.

While you left us los in the dark
You abandoned me and others in times of suffering and need, leaving us alone and unsupported.

You preyed on my faith and I gave you my life
You took advantage of my belief and trust in something greater, and I devoted myself completely to that pursuit without question or reservation.

You promised me heaven, instead
You sold me an ideal or fantasy, only for it to evaporate or prove false entirely.

I watched as all I loved once returned to dust
The people and things that were most dear to me all perished and vanished, leaving me with nothing but grief and pain.

The world we used to live in, it drowns in rust
The world we knew and cherished is now decaying and crumbling, no longer able to sustain the hopes and dreams of those who once lived there.

But I close my eyes
Despite the harsh reality of the present, I choose to look away and cling to hope or fantasy.

And turn to the skies
I look to something greater or external, for guidance or support in my times of need.

With all the souls you gave us, with all those tears
With all of the life and emotion that you granted to us, we still suffer and cry out in pain and loss.

You didn't try and stop it in all those years
Despite all of our struggles and suffering, you did not intervene or provide salvation or relief.

You heard all those cries
You were aware of our pain and distress, and yet you did not act or provide comfort or assurance.

But you closed your eyes
You chose to look away from our suffering and ignore it, leaving us to fend for ourselves.

And soon there will be silence
One day, all of our striving and suffering will all come to an end, and we will be left with only silence and emptiness.

The last of all to come
Even after everything else fades away and ends, there will still be one final reckoning or event to come.

But you will still remember
Despite all of our experiences and trials, you will not forget us and what we have been through.

When we will long be gone
Long after we have all died and passed on, our legacy and memories will endure and continue to affect others.

Even when nobody else remembers or remains, my voice will still echo and reverberate.

Reminding you of us
My words and experiences will serve as a reminder of the reality and consequence of what we have all gone through.

Forsaken, betrayed in our trust
We were left alone and abandoned, our faith and reliance on something greater having been misplaced and ill-founded.
