He was considered the "ambassador" of the Favelas ( Brazilian Shanty Towns ). He was the singer of the Malandragem.
Bezerra was knowledgeable about life in the favelas, and the songs he sang are filled with slang terms having to do with drug dealing, the law, etc., and are often humorous. Later in life, not long before his passing, Bezerra gave up this life and became an evangelical Christian.

Sujou, Sujou
Alô, Maladragem
Prepara O Pinote [2X]
Ele morre debaixo do pau, amizade
E não cagüeta os amigos
E também quando sai de cana
A moçada faz festa pra lhe receber
Ainda ganha tudo o que tem direito
Como recompensa do seu merecer
É aí que a gente vê
Quem é firmeza e quem não é
Porque o sangue puro é cadeado blindado
Ele não cagüeta nem banca o mané

The lyrics to Bezerra da Silva's song "Prepara O Pinote" are centered around the theme of malandragem or street smarts, and the importance of loyalty among those who live by these principles. The refrain, "Sujou, Sujou / Alô, Malandragem / Prepara O Pinote" roughly translates to "Trouble, trouble / Hello, Malandragem / Get ready to bolt." This serves as a warning to those who may find themselves in a tight spot in the streets – they need to be ready to run.
The song discusses how men have set a trap, and anyone who falls for it will inevitably have to fight their way out. The lyrics explain how malandros, or street-smart individuals, keep their mouths shut and don't give away information, even when faced with punishment. They also highlight the fact that it is in these situations that true malandragem is revealed, separating those who are truly street-smart from those who are not.
The final lines of the song focus on how loyalty among those who live by malandragem is of utmost importance. It is emphasized that a true malandro would never betray their friends, even if it meant enduring punishment. The song overall reflects on the importance of loyalty and trust in the streets and how malandragem can be a means of survival.
