This is what encouraged me to look deeper into the gorillaz. Like there i was listening to some newish Gorillaz song (random recommended) and my curiosity got me and i was like "ya know what... I'll BET people ship 2d with... Some body." So i type in '2d x'... And "2d X Ace" is the most popular result. So of course im like ... Who tf is Ace.... So i look it up and im like "that's...definitely that one guy from the powerpuff girls.... What even...." .... I mean thats the most random thing i can think of... What person thought "ya know who he'd be cute with? This random character from a random 90s cartoon who looks nothing like him and has nothing in common with him in general".... But then i figured out Ace replaced Murdoc. Mind = Blown. Who knew that kinda crossover was even ALLOWED? O.O I love that the powerpuff creators okay'd it.
