The initial Biff Bang Pow! line-up was McGee on guitar and vocals, with Dick Green on guitar, Slaughter Joe (Joe Foster) on bass, and Ken Popple on drums, these recording the first 2 singles "50 Years of Fun" and "There Must Be A Better Life".
Dave Evans then replaced Foster (who went solo as Slaughter Joe), and guitarist/organist Andrew Innes (later to join Primal Scream) joined on a part-time basis.

But it doesn't appeal to my (other side) of affection
For my love it overspills
Every time I see her very eyes
The way she looks the way she talks
It's just emotion, is it love or simply just affection?
Every time she touches me my mind turns black
And I'm falling in and out of love
Love's going out of fashion, I say
Love's going out of fashion, I think
Love's going out of fashion, I think
Love's going out of fashion
Now I'm older I'm looking back at the time
We had and the way we used to be
Is it over or are we just testing each other now, yeah?
When she looks at other men, she breaks my heart with
A (?) that I want you, (I love but you)
Every time she touches me my mind turns black
And I'm falling in and out of love
Is it just confusion, is this where love brings (?) and humiliation?
Love's going out of fashion, I say
Love's going out of fashion, I say
Love's going out of fashion, I think
Love's going out of fashion
The song "Love's Going Out of Fashion" by Biff Bang Pow! explores the theme of love and its possible decline in popularity. The lyrics depict a person who is in love with someone they cannot stop thinking about. The love they feel for this person is overwhelming, as they describe how every time they see her eyes or she touches them, they fall in and out of love. However, the singer questions whether this strong feeling of love is just confusion or if it will lead to humiliation. The line "Love's going out of fashion" repeats throughout the song, suggesting that love is becoming less significant or less valued in society.
The lyrics suggest that the person's love is not reciprocated, which causes them pain and confusion. They are uncertain if the relationship is over or if they are simply testing each other. The mention of the woman looking at other men may imply that she is not committed to the relationship. The line "she breaks my heart with a (?) that I want you, (I love but you)" further suggests uncertainty and confusion in the relationship.
The song may be interpreted as a commentary on the changing attitudes towards love and relationships in society. The repetition of the line "Love's going out of fashion" may reflect a growing trend towards casual relationships or a decreasing emphasis on long-term commitment. Ultimately, the song leaves the listener with a sense of uncertainty and confusion about the state of the relationship and the future of love.
