Rocking hard for all the girls and boys
We got the groove we got the songs
Our kinda music makes you sing along
Well jump on up in your chair
Everybody throw your hands up in the air
You're gonna scream until it hurts
You know you're gonna get your dollar's worth well
[Chorus]
Crank it up tonight
When you hear us on your radio, oh, oh
We'll take you for a ride
Anywhere that you want to go, oh, oh
Glad you all could make it out to the big show
One, two, three, four, hey hey here we go
A big city or a hick town
Soon or later we'll be coming around
We like to party with the rowdy crowd
We like our fiddles and our guitars loud
[Chorus]
Crank it up tonight
When you hear us on the radio, oh, oh
We'll take you for a ride
Anywhere that you want to, oh, oh
Glad you all could make it out to the Big & Rich show
One, two, three, four, hey hey here we go
Crank it up tonight when you hear us on your radio
The song "Radio" by Big & Rich is an uptempo, lively track about the joy of hearing your favorite music on the radio and the excitement of attending a live concert. The lyrics describe a band that is on tour, playing their music for fans all around the country. The opening lines suggest that the band is loud and energetic, which gets the crowd dancing and singing along. The chorus urges listeners to "crank it up tonight" when they hear the band on the radio, promising to take them for a ride anywhere they want to go.
The song's use of guitars, fiddles, and other instruments is also noteworthy. The band's love for traditional country instruments suggests a respect for their musical heritage, contrasting with the modern rock and pop sounds that were dominating mainstream radio at the time. The lyrics also capture the feeling of intimacy between a band and its fans, acknowledging that they can play in a small "hick town" or the big city and still create an atmosphere of celebration and joy.
Overall, "Radio" is a catchy, upbeat song that celebrates the power of music to bring people together and create a sense of community. It captures the exhilaration of hearing your favorite song on the radio and the excitement of attending a live concert, reminding us of the essential role that music plays in our lives.
