We don't take the time to say the thing we used to say
And I can't remember the last time together lost in each other's eyes
And it just ain't right
Come on baby let's leave tonight
I just wanna run, I just want to run away with you
And live wide openSet Em On fire, crazy like we used to do
It don't matter where we're going
Up on a mountain, down by the beach side
Till we find the love that we fell into
Hey, I just wanna run, I just want to run away with you
I just want to run away with you
I miss your midnight kiss and loving you all night long
This life's like a rip tide and we're barely hanging on
Caught up in the worry, and always in a hurry and losing what we're all about
Lets slow it down
Take our love and get out of this town
I just wanna run, I just want to run away with you
And live wide open
Set Em On fire, crazy like we used to do
It don't matter where we're going
Up on a mountain, down by the beach side
Till we find the love that we fell into
Hey, I just wanna run, I just want to run away with you
I just want to run away with you
I want to lay you down with nothing but the sound of my name on your lips
We can let it all go and move real close and find that place again
I just wanna run, I just want to run away with you
Set Em On fire, crazy like we used to do
It don't matter where we're going
Up on a mountain, down by the beach side
Till we find the love that we fell into
Hey, I just wanna run, I just want to run away with you
I just want to run away with you
The lyrics of Big & Rich's "Run Away With You" speaks of the desire to rekindle the passion and connection that the couple once had. The opening lines set the tone for the longing and sense of distance that exist in their relationship. The lyrics suggest that the couple is too busy with their everyday lives that they don't take the time to nurture their love.
The chorus of the song serves as a plea from one to the other to leave everything behind and live wildly and freely with each other. The desire to feel that sense of love and freedom manifest in the phrase, "And live wide open. Set Em On fire, crazy like we used to do." The chorus suggests that as long as they're together, their problems don't matter. The lines, "It don't matter where we're going, up on a mountain, down by the beach side," suggests that they can be anywhere, as long as they are together, and they will find the love that they once shared.
The second verse of the song is more specific about the things that the couple misses about each other. The midnight kisses and missed lovemaking are a far cry from what their relationship has turned into. They talk about the worries that come with everyday life and how it's consuming everything else they have.
Overall the song "Run Away With You" talks about the power of love and how it can surmount anything when both partners commit to its nurturing. It encourages the listeners to slow down and take a look at their relationships and makes time for each other before it's too late.
