In March 1988 the student club Balbina housed the first show of Big Cyc, called "Uroczysta akademia na cześć 75-lecia wynalezienia damskiego biustonosza" (A solemn ceremony to celebrate the 75th anniversary of invention of women's brassiere). Big Cyc made successive songs, and in 1990 they published their first album, "Z partyjnym pozdrowieniem". The album became a hit in Poland and in short time Big Cyc became well-known in the country.
Successive songs and albums of Big Cyc took a sarcastic look on the reality of Polish politics and people. Often in ironic manner, the songs expose issues like problems of Polish youth, economic disproportions, drug addiction, or silliness of TV commercials. In 1996 Big Cyc published their seventh album, called "Z gitarą wśród zwierząt" (With guitar among animals), which contains the most famous song in history of band, Makumba, the stereotypical story of an African student in Poland.
Two newest albums of Big Cyc, "Świat według Kiepskich" (World according to Kiepscy) from 2000 and "Zmień z nami płeć" (Change your gender with us) from 2002 weren't very popular. Big Cyc switched to satirising politics - amongst others, they made the single "Złoty warkocz" (Golden praid) about Polish member of parliament Renata Beger. In late 2005 Big Cyc made a media furore in Poland with their controversial single titled "Moherowe berety" (Mohair berets), a commentary on vocal older generation in Poland, viewed by many younger people as old-fashioned (see Mohair berets).

The song "Każdy facet to świnia" by Big Cyc is a critique on the behaviour of a man who neglects his partner and prefers to engage in activities with his friends or alone rather than invest time in their relationship. The opening lines of the song reveal that the man in question is lazy and spends his time reading the newspaper rather than being productive. He only eats when food is served to him and wanders the house like a ghost. Meanwhile, he chooses to drink with his friends instead of baking with his partner's mother and abandons his responsibilities as a parent. The chorus of the song, "Facet to świnia, mówisz, że ty o tym wiesz" (A man is a pig, you say you know that) reinforces the notion that men are often uninvolved in domestic affairs and lack the emotional intelligence necessary to maintain healthy relationships.
The second verse focuses on other instances of neglect by the man, such as his obsession with watching TV and his lack of interest in religious activities. He also fails to provide emotional support or affection to his partner, ignoring her in times of need. Additionally, the song mentions the man's infidelity, but the partner is willing to overlook it because of her love for him. The line "Bez ciebie nudny byłby świat, bo facet to jest dobra rzecz" (Without you, the world would be boring, because a man is a good thing) speaks to the idea that societal norms demand women to tolerate male behaviour that is often hurtful and toxic.

Kocham Big Cyc'a. Będąc małolatem w latach '90 starszy brat ich słuchał i podłapałem bakcyla, muzyka wtedy mi sie nie za bardzo podobała, ale teksty były i nadal są w dziesiątkę. A ten konkretny teledysk to satyra na M. Gesler, jeszcze zanim ktokolwiek usłyszał, że jest takie kędzierzawe, w blond lokach, dożarte, stare babsko, które wszystkich normalnych ludzi wqr**a:D
