The debut album "Believe" saw the releases of the singles Remember (I.O.U.), Just The Same, and Reality. Also featured on the album was the potential hit, Missing You, featuring the guest vocals of label mate Evanescence's Amy Lee.
Around the release of Believe, Durrance had to have vocal surgery, and this hindered the support of the album which had the potential to be a big hit. Big Dismal joined the See Spot Rock Tour in 2004, their first and pretty much only big tour before disbanding. The rest of the SSR Tour included label mates 12 Stones, as well as Christian rockers Skillet and Pillar. Filling out the tour lineup was the Christian hip-hop duo Grits.
Soon after the See Spot Rock Tour, there was trouble in the Big Dismal camp and the group disbanded.
Eric Durrance is still signed with Wind-Up records and is set to release his debut solo alt-country album in the first quarter of 2007.
Guitarist Chuck Shea joined the Christian rock group Seventh Day Slumber. Shea will debut his studio guitar work on Seventh Day Slumber's new album "Finally Awake" on March 20, 2007.
Losing You
Big Dismal Lyrics

The lies you told me were sincere
I never wanted to second guess it
It seems so real, how was I to know how you feel
So I'll sleep alone
Even if I know it's hard to watch you go
‘Cause there's something that I must do
All this time I took for granted
Always relied on second chances
Now my luck is finally running out
I'm so tired of always living in this shadow of doubt
So I'll sleep alone
Even if I know it's hard to watch you go
‘Cause there's something that I must do
Even if I know it means losing you
Fly away, don't be afraid
Never forget the memories that we made
All these times between us,
Just close your eyes I'll be there
So I'll sleep alone
Even if I know it's hard to watch you go
‘Cause there's something that I must do
Even if I know it means losing you
The lyrics to Big Dismal's song "Losing You" speak to the pain and confusion of a broken relationship. The song's narrator is grappling with conflicting emotions as they realize that their partner has been lying to them, and that they were unaware of how their partner truly felt. The first verse establishes this sense of betrayal, with the lyrics, "Your persuasion has lead me here//The lies you told me were sincere//I never wanted to second guess it//It seems so real, how was I to know how you feel." The singer is struggling to understand why their partner would deceive them in this way, and is left feeling uncertain about the state of their relationship.
As the song progresses, the singer begins to come to terms with the fact that they need to let go of their partner, despite how difficult it may be. The second verse highlights this realization, as the singer sings, "All this time I took for granted//Always relied on second chances//Now my luck is finally running out//I'm so tired of always living in this shadow of doubt." The singer recognizes that they have been living in a state of uncertainty for too long, and that it's time for them to move on.
The chorus of the song, with the repetition of the phrase "So I'll sleep alone," underscores the stark reality that the singer is facing. They know that they must break ties with their partner, even though it will be painful. The song's title, "Losing You," takes on a double meaning: not only must the singer let go of their partner, but they are also losing a part of themselves in the process.
Overall, "Losing You" is a poignant and relatable song about the pain of heartbreak and the difficulty of moving on from a broken relationship. Its lyrics offer a window into the complexity of emotions that arise when we are forced to confront the loss of someone we love.
