All my life, I've been afraid to die
You didn't stay by my side
So tell me why, you always gotta lie
I cannot sleep at night
All my life, I've been afraid to die
You didn't stay by my side
So tell me why, you always gotta lie
Ever since I got dumped off my life felt like hell
Curse plus trauma, bitch casted on me a bad spell
All my life waited for someone new, damn who would've knew
That all my life I have been waiting for you, my Izzy boo
All my life, I've been afraid to die
You didn't stay by my side
So tell me why, you always gotta lie
I cannot sleep at night
All my life, I've been afraid to die
You didn't stay by my side
So tell me why, you always gotta lie
I cannot sleep at night
I cannot sleep demons shake the cages making me deprived
When your not right by my side don't know how I survived
Hold me close
Don't care what's going on I just wanna do the most
Hold me close
I'd rather take you over, and over, overdose
All my life, have been waiting for you for so long
All my life, realized to do right have to do wrong
All my life, I've been afraid to die (Afraid to die)
You didn't stay by my side (Stay by my side)
So tell me why (Why), you always gotta lie (You always gotta lie)
I cannot sleep at night (Sleep at night)
All my life (Life), I've been afraid to die (Afraid to die)
You didn't stay by my side (Stay by my side)
So tell me why (Why), you always gotta lie (Lie)
I cannot sleep at night (Sleep at night)
(Yeah, yeah, yeah) (All my life)
(All my life, I've been afraid to die
You didn't stay by my side
So tell me why, you always gotta lie
I cannot sleep at night)
The song "All My Life" by Big K.R.I.T. explores themes of fear of death, betrayal, and insomnia. The lyrics express the singer's vulnerability and insecurities as he grapples with his mortality and relationships. The repetition of the line "All my life, I've been afraid to die" underscores the singer's fears and anxieties, while the lines "You didn't stay by my side/So tell me why, you always gotta lie" reveal a sense of distrust and betrayal. These emotions are also reinforced by the reference to "demons" shaking cages and making the singer "deprived," adding a supernatural dimension to the song's themes of fear and vulnerability.
The song can be interpreted as a lament for lost love, as the singer refers to someone named "Izzy boo" and says he has been waiting for this person for his entire life. The line "realized to do right have to do wrong" suggests that the singer may have made mistakes in the past, but is now willing to do whatever it takes to make things right. The repeated plea to "hold me close" underscores the singer's need for emotional connection and support, while the reference to "overdose" suggests that the singer may be grappling with addiction or self-destructive behaviors as a way to cope with his anxieties.
