Here I Found / No Self Control
Billy Lemos Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I went, I went to tell her she could say
If she ever needed anything
If there was somethin' I could
She said my heart is overgrown the weight I never knew
I'm further in time than most of...
Here I found the feeling long forgotten
As I'm older than now
The feeling uncommunicated
Here I found
The feeling long forgotten
As I'm older than now
The feeling uncommunicated
Here I found
The feeling long forgotten
As I'm older than now
The feeling uncommunicated
Here I found
The feeling long forgotten
As I'm older than now
The feeling uncommunicated
Ghost of control
Live in a bed
A bed
Live in
Live in
Live in
Ghost, ghost, ghost of control
Live in a bed
Ghost of control
Live in a bed
Ghost, ghost

Ghost live in
Live in

Overall Meaning

In Billy Lemos’s song Here I Found / No Self Control, the singer goes to talk to someone about his willingness to help them if they ever needed anything. However, the person responds by saying that their heart is overwhelmed with weight and that they are further in time than most people. The lyrics here seem to suggest that the person is carrying some sort of emotional baggage which they can’t seem to shake off. Despite this, the singer seems to have found a feeling that he had long forgotten, which could be hope or love or something else that’s positive.

The repetition of the line “here I found” emphasizes the fact that the singer has stumbled on something significant. The phrase “ghost of control” seems to suggest that the person whose heart is weighed down is being haunted by something that they cannot control. Overall, the lyrics paint a picture of someone who is being crushed by emotional burdens that they cannot seem to overcome. However, at the same time, the lyrics provide hope for both the person in question and the singer himself.
