The moon is often seen as beautiful, a symbol of love.

But, to this man it is a deadly curse
For one man, the full moon brings about a transformation that turns him into a ferocious beast.

When the moon is full, this miserable wretch turns into a hairy, snarling, half-man half-beast!
The transformation brought on by the full moon turns this man into a grotesque creature that few would recognize as human.

ONCE UPON (a midnight dreary) I see the full moon clearly
The story takes place on a dark and eerie night, with the full moon ominously present.

The wind sounds eerie (don't it chill your spine?)
The howling wind is unsettling, and sends a shiver down your spine.

And don't these shadows make you leery? (Cause with dark there's dirt)
The shadows cast by the moon and trees cause suspicion and distrust, as they suggest that dirt and danger lie hidden in the darkness.

THE PLACE OF BIRTH OF THE EVIL MAN'S WORK
The setting of the story - the place where evil deeds take place.

(Who's the man?) Some cat named Jack, last name unknown
The story centers around a man named Jack, whose last name is a mystery.

He don't say much (wig full-blown) he don't shave much
Jack is a quiet, unkempt figure - with a large wig and untamed facial hair.

Nights like tonight he would rather stay up INSTEAD OF GOIN TO SLEEP (he's in the dark of the streets)
Jack is the kind of person who prowls the streets at night, preferring his own company and acting in secret.

(He has a HUNGER, cravin but his taste unique)
Jack has a strong urge to satisfy his cravings - which are peculiar and uncommon.

Most people in the neighborhood afraid to speak (They call Jack a savage man)
The people who know of Jack are scared to confront him - they see him as a dangerous and unpredictable figure, like a savage.

(Although he got Arm, Leg, a Leg, a Arm, Head, feet and hands) He was far from me and you (my man you wouldn't understand)
Although Jack may appear human, he is in fact very different - both in his essence and in his actions.

There's a young girl found dead behind the skatin rink (Not far from Ned the whino's sittin in his own stink)
The discovery of a murdered girl, and the presence of Ned - an alcoholic - indicate the dark and seedy nature of the neighborhood.

HE SAW THE WHOLE THING (told 'em Jack was the link) (But nobody takes him serious)
Ned claims to have witnessed the murder and implicates Jack, but his credibility is in doubt - no one believes him.

Why? (Because Ned drinks) Why? (He slurs when he talks) Why? (He staggers when he walks)
Ned's inebriation undermines his reputation and ability to communicate effectively.

Well whoever he is, whatever he is HE'S STILL ON THE PROWL FULL MOONS MAKE A MAN WILD
Jack's wild and unpredictable nature makes him dangerous, particularly during a full moon.

He prowls the night His fangs, thirsty for, human blood He, is a werewolf...
The man named Jack transforms into a werewolf at night, driven by his hunger for human blood.

ANOTHER VICTIM, cops blamin Rottweilers and Pits (But drunken Ned spreadin rumors 'bout some werewolf shit)
Another murder has occurred, and while the police blame it on dogs, rumors start to spread that Jack - in his werewolf form - is responsible.

(So our eyes are desensitized, nuttin surprisin) We numb to the fact the murder rate keeps risin
The people of the neighborhood have grown accustomed to violence and crime, and are desensitized to shocking events like murder. As a result, the murder rate continues to go up without consequence.

(That night) Some kids that we knew from school (Wanna make Ned look like a drunk old fool)
A group of kids decides to play a prank on Ned, hoping to embarrass or humiliate him.

So the plannin, THEY WOULD SEND TWO OUT OF THE THREE COMPANIONS TO THE BLOCK WHERE NED WAS PANHANDLIN..
The plan is for two of the kids to check on Ned while the third waits in the car.

THEY JUMPED IN THE CAR (pedal to the metal)
The kids speed off in the car, eager to carry out their prank with intensity.

Headed for the old train station (poor Ned's heartbeat's racin)
The destination of the prank is an abandoned train station, which Ned likely finds eerie and unsettling.

You can feel the tension in the air (wait stop the ride)
The atmosphere at the train station is tense and offers a sense of foreboding.

Ned seen a shadow by the boxcar (let's check inside)
Ned spots a shadowy figure by one of the train cars, prompting the kids to investigate further.

Who wants to go first? (But nobody moved)
The kids are hesitant and scared to move forward, letting the fear of the unknown overtake them.

Ned so drunk he had no fear ("I'll go, y'all wait here!")
Ned, being drunk and lacking self-awareness, offers to investigate the potential danger himself.

So he headed down the terminal (all the way to the rear)
Ned slowly makes his way down the terminal, with the possibility of danger growing with each step that he takes.

As he looked back at the car (everybody had disappeared)
Ned glances back at the car and notices that the kids have all disappeared, leaving him alone and vulnerable.

Uh-oh, something's wrong, that's around the corner Noises comin from the boxcar (look like Ned's a goner)
Suspense builds as Ned realizes he's in deep trouble - the noise coming from the boxcar may spell the end for him.

That's when a hairy figure jumped from the train (Shoulda seen Ned run, like a bat outta hell screamin the name)
Jack in his werewolf form makes an appearance, causing Ned to run as fast as he can while screaming for help.

"WOLFMAN JACK" - meanwhile back at the boxcar (My man fell down to the ground he laughin so hard)
The kids are in on the prank, which turns out to be Jack wearing a costume and scaring the group for their own amusement.

Pullin off his mask, sheddin tears from the joke NED HAD NO IDEA IT WAS A HOAX
The prank is revealed to Ned, who is left shocked and embarrassed.

All alone standin - my man yelled ("He's gone, y'all can come out now") to his two companions No reply, five minutes go by
The two kids who were supposed to remain in the car are nowhere to be found, leaving the kid who yelled all alone.

("Oh what, y'all tryin to scare me now? Nice try!") Approaching the ride, no sign of the two guys
The kid tries to play it cool, but quickly realizes that something is wrong when he finds neither of his friends at the car.

He screamed ("Man I'm out!") then he got inside
Realizing how dangerous the situation may be, the last surviving kid leaves in a hurry and gets into the car.

SUDDENLY, out the corner of his eye, (What the hell is this?!) On the bloody backseat laid his two friends headless
In a horrifying turn of events, the kid turns to see that his two friends have been brutally and gruesomely murdered and are now lying in the backseat without their heads.

WOLF MAN JACK STRIKES AGAIN BRINGIN THIS STORY TO A END JUST LIKE MY MAN AND HIS CREW IF YOU LIKE TO CRY WOLF, THE SAME THING CAN HAPPEN TO YOU...
The story ends with a warning - those who play with the idea of danger may find themselves facing real and deadly consequences.
