Peace on Earth/Little Drummer Boy
Bing Crosby Lyrics

Come they told me pa-rum-pum-pum-pum
A newborn king to see pa-rum-pum-pum-pum
Our finest gifts we bring pa-rum-pum-pum-pum
Rum-pum-pum-pum, rum-pum-pum-pum

Peace on Earth can it be? (Come they told me pa-rum-pum-pum-pum)
Years from now, perhaps we'll see? (A newborn king to see pa-rum-pum-pum-pum)
See the day of glory (our finest gift we bring pa-rum-pum-pum-pum)
See the day, when men of good will (to lay before the king pa-rum-pum-pum-pum)
Live in peace, live in peace again (rum-pum-pum-pum)
Peace on Earth (so to honor him pa-rum-pum-pum-pum)
Can it be (when we come)

Every child must be made aware
Every child must be made to care
Care enough for his fellow man
To give all the love that he can

I pray my wish will come true (little baby pa-rum-pum-pum-pum)
For my child and your child too (I stood beside him there pa-rum-pum-pum-pum)
He'll see the day of glory (I played my drum for him pa-rum-pum-pum-pum)
See the day when men of good will (I played my best for him pa-rum-pum-pum-pum)
Live in peace, live in peace again (rum-pum-pum-pum)
Peace on Earth (then he smiled at me pa-rum-pum-pum-pum)
Can it be (me and my drum)

Can it be

I will never ever forget watching this live, as it happened. I thought the earth would spin off its axis. I'm sure everyone watching had a major WTF moment. It was more than an unlikely pairing, the times were just so fraught (like now) and to put someone who represented the newest school next to a guy from the oldest school, I can't even. And then to have them produce this beautiful piece of music. It was great.

Thank you for your beautiful eloquence Stacy and happy holidays.

You have summed it up so completely... So accurately and true that along with the music another tear of joy and bittersweet remembrance of times gone by filled my heart .

The Smart-Casual Gamer.

R.I.P, Bing and Bowie.

Bowie apparently stated that this was one of the best things he ever did. Which I can understand. Who WOULDN'T want to sing with Bing Crosby?

Lynne Connolly

He didn't, actually. He said it was one of the worst and he hated it so much that when his record company released it as a single, he signed to another label.
