Too-Ra-Loo-Ra-Loo-Ral
Bing Crosby Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral
Too-ra-loo-ra-li
Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral
Hush now, don't you cry
Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral
Too-ra-loo-ra-li
Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral
That's an Irish lullaby

Over in Killarney, many years ago
My mother sang a song to me in tones so soft and low
Just a simple little ditty in her good old Irish way
And I'd give the world if I could hear that song of hers today

Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral
Too-ra-loo-ra-li
Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral
Hush now, don't you cry
Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral
Too-ra-loo-ra-li

Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral
That's an Irish lullaby

This played at my husbands funeral. It's an upbeat song in some ways, but it was his Song. He sang it to our child every night before he fell asleep. Every time I hear bing Crosby I think of my beautiful husband. He died in afghan, serving his country. RIP Tom, love you forever and always.

My nana always sang this to me as a little girl growing up. She took me in after my mom died at 4 years old and her singing this was so comforting to me. She passed away a few weeks ago while we were listening to this and a few of her other favorites. ❤️ I love you so much Nana. Life will never be the same without you.
