Biosphere Lyrics

Sorry to wake you
I forgot to tell you something
The things I tell you will not be wrong

Overall Meaning

The first verse of "The Things I Tell You" by Biosphere, showcases an intimate moment of an individual who has just woken up, perhaps from a deep slumber. The person who wakes up apologizes immediately to the person lying next to them for waking them up. The singer then continues to confess that they forgot to share something important with the other person. Despite the fact that they are waking them up from their sleep, the singer assures the other person that the things they will tell them will not be incorrect. This implies that the singer is someone whom the other person trusts implicitly, to the point where they wouldn't mind waking up in the middle of the night to hear what the singer has to say. In essence, this is a depiction of the kind of deep and meaningful relationship that most people seek, where one person is so important to the other that they'd willingly drop everything for them, despite any inconvenience.

The rest of the song features soft and soothing electronic sounds that are perfect for inducing a sense of calm, which suggests that this song is meant to be meditative in nature, rather than offering a narrative. Despite the fact that the vocalist doesn't deliver any more lyrics, the soothing sounds in the background are enough to create a calming and surreal atmosphere. Thus, this song could be interpreted as a lullaby that is meant to lull the listener to sleep and bring them closer to the singer's voice. It’s a representation of the deep bond that comes with a relationship where someone is so important to the other person that they can confide in them without hesitation.

I listen to this music whole my life. A couple of months ago, I put this music on before sleep. The music played for around 3-4 hours, I slept peacefully. But at the 5 of the morning I awoke by hearing "Sorry to wake you, I forgot to tell you something". It felt like someone actually come near me and was woke me up to tell something. Those past 3-4 hours I slept deep and did not hear anything, just soothing melody.
It's like living in a dream you have thought and suddenly someone unknown comes. No regretions of listening to this music. Makes me feel safe around and soothes depression all the way down.

Substrata has got to be one of the best ambient albums ever. Cold, remote, inscrutable. If the Northern Lights were turned into music, they'd sound like this album.

@mdmartin2713

Indeed. Try Sleep Research facility - similar atmosphere

@billysequins

I agree - second only to On Land by Brian Eno

I will mark this day (Nov 20) on my calendar as the day I discovered Geir Jenssen / Biosphere, through a serendipitous sequence of connections. Perhaps it was the deep meditation yesterday that led to this portal. I am grateful and hopeful. Thanks, naassuu for posting this.

@eyelessingaza1977

@krunch87

All of his music seemed like soundtracks to movies I've never seen. I get such picturest images and landscapes and scenes in my mind when I listen to his music. I could almost write an entire movie script based on just listening to one one of his tracks. RIP.
