Bishop G. E. Patterson brought indispenible evidence of our need to provide extended ministries. In his prerogative as leader, he re-enforced our position in charitable giving and socail ministries with the creation of COGIC Charities. He engineered new efforts in the realm of philanthropy and evangelism. He could be heard saying,"How can I preach when the vicissitudes of life are destorying the people?" When hurricanes Rita and Katrina ravaged the nation, the plea of the Presiding Bishop was appreciated. It was exraordinary that faith preaching and practical realities of the Gospel prepared the Church of God in Christ to help alleviate the pain and suffering of countness people during the aftermath of the storms.

All to Jesus
I surrender
I freely give, and trust in Him
With my heart opened wide, His love won't decline
To know that thou art mine
The joy of full salvation
Glory glory to His name
Fill me with Your love and power, Jesus
Sing this song to the nation
I wanna feel thy holy spirit
Fill me with Your love and power, Jesus
All to Jesus
I surrender
All to Him I freely give
I will ever love and trust Him
In His presence daily live
All to Jesus
I surrender
I freely give, and trust in Him
With my heart opened wide, His love won't decline
To know that thou art mine
The joy of full salvation
Glory glory to His name
Fill me with Your love and power, Jesus
Sing this song to the nations
I wanna feel thy holy spirit
Fill me with Your love and power, Jesus
All to Jesus
I surrender
All to Him I freely give
I will ever love and trust Him
In His presence daily live
I surrender all, I surrender all
And all to Jesus I owe
I surrender all, I surrender all
and all to Jesus I owe
I surrender all, I surrender all
And all to Jesus I owe
I surrender all, I surrender all
and all to Jesus I owe
I surrender all, I surrender all
And all to Jesus I owe
I surrender all, I surrender all
and all to Jesus I owe
I surrender all, I surrender all
And all to Jesus I owe
I surrender all, I surrender all
and all to Jesus I owe
Yea Yea yea
Still owe you a praise
My hallelujah is never enough, yea
My worship is never enough, never enough
It will never amount to your love
I surrender all, I surrender all
and all to Jesus I owe
(And all to Jesus I owe
I surrender all, I surrender all)
And all to Jesus I owe
(And all to Jesus I owe
I surrender all, I surrender all)
And all to Jesus I owe
(And all to Jesus I owe
I surrender all, I surrender all)
And all to Him I owe
(And all to Jesus I owe)
All to Jesus
I surrender
All to Him I freely give
The opening lines of Bishop G.E. Patterson's "I Surrender All" set the tone for a powerful worship song that calls Catholics to give up their fears, doubts, insecurities, and sins; everything they are hiding, and lay it all at Jesus' feet. The song begins in a plaintive tone, as if the singer is struggling with surrendering every part of themselves to Jesus. As the song progresses, the pleading turns into a plea, and then the plea becomes a cry.
The chorus is a repetition of the phrase "I surrender all," which could have different connotations depending on the individual listening to the song. To some, it could be a call to selflessness, while to others, it could be a cry for mercy. The words "All to Jesus I surrender" imply that the singer is entrusting everything they are and everything they have to Jesus' care. The song acknowledges the high cost of discipleship and encourages Catholics to follow Jesus not only with their minds and lips but also with their lives.
