Moving Forward
Bitter:Sweet Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I know not what I do
Don't restrain me now, not in the mood
Standing naked in the rain
One step closer to insane
No one left here to blame
[Chorus]
I'm moving forward, doing the best that I can
I won't begin to understand how this happened
What state am I in?
Now you're changing
Your tune to set the mood
Rearranging everything you do
Sweeping up after my shame
Hoping, praying to be saved
[Chorus]
I won't begin to understand how this happened
What state am I in?
The lyrics to Bitter:Sweet's "Moving Forward" suggest a sense of confusion, despair, and uncertainty after experiencing some kind of significant change or trauma. The singer admits that they don't know what they're doing, and that they feel helpless and unstable. However, the chorus of the song suggests that the singer is trying to move forward and do the best they can despite the difficult circumstances. The repetition of this phrase reinforces the idea of resilience and the importance of pushing through challenging times.
The verse about standing naked in the rain and being one step closer to insane portrays how vulnerable the singer feels, as if they are exposed to the elements and unable to control their own mind. The line "no one left here to blame" suggests that the singer may be feeling isolated or alone in their struggles. The second verse seems to be directed towards someone else who is trying to help or comfort the singer, but may be struggling to do so effectively.
Overall, the lyrics to "Moving Forward" are evocative and emotional. It's a song about coping with difficult circumstances, trying to stay positive, and ultimately finding a way to move forward despite not fully understanding what has happened.
