The song "Kucing Hitam" by Bittersweet begins with the singer observing a black cat walking ahead of them, but they pay it no mind as it is just a part of their world. The cat is seen as a symbol of the negative and dark aspects of life that one cannot escape. The grief and hurt that the singer feels is also present in the form of the cat that is always in front of them. However, despite this, the singer is not worried about where the cat is headed. As the song goes on, the cat starts running towards the singer but they still don't know where it is headed. The cat's blackness reflects the darkness inside the singer's heart- blackened by the bile of anger and distress.
The chorus of the song talks about how the black cat wants everything and it perceives itself as a king among its peers. It also sees itself as a warrior, flaunting its flags and banners. But the singer sees the cat for what it is- with its black fur and unstable temper, it cannot be trusted. Through this song, the singer is accepting their own idea of how they should lead their life and is content with their choices, no matter how corrupt and wicked they may seem.
