All Is Full of Love
Björk Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
You'll be taken care of
You'll be given love
You have to trust it
Maybe not from the sources
You have poured yours
Maybe not from the directions
Twist your head around
It's all around you
All is full of love
All around you
All is full of love
You just ain't receiving
All is full of love
Your phone is off the hook
All is full of love
Your doors are all shut
All is full of love!
All is full of love, all is full of love
All is full of love, all is full of love
In Björk's hauntingly beautiful track "All Is Full of Love," she sings of the universal experience of love and how it is present in everything and everywhere, even if we fail to see it. The first verse repeats the phrase "You'll be given love" twice, indicating that the singer is trying to reassure someone of the love that is coming their way. The second line, "You'll be taken care of," emphasizes that the love that is being given is not just a fleeting emotion but a genuine, nurturing kind of love.
The second verse suggests that the love we need may not always come from where we expect it to. "Maybe not from the sources you have poured yours," suggests that the love we have given out in the past may not necessarily be reciprocated in the same way or from the same people. And "maybe not from the directions you are staring at" implies that we need to be open-minded and receptive to love, even if it doesn't come from the sources we are currently focused on.
The chorus of the song, "All is full of love," is a reminder that love is all around us, if only we look for it. The final lines of the song, "You just ain't receiving / All is full of love / Your phone is off the hook / Your doors are all shut," suggest that love is there, waiting for us to receive it, but we may be closing ourselves off to it by avoiding human connection and interaction.
Overall, "All Is Full of Love" is a song about the power of love to heal, nurture, and transform us if we only let it.

+ShonColle25 Yet, Taylor Swift has ten.... Grammys are so overrating and very Uncredible....
@lashercollette88
+Denzel Mcconico Exactly. I like Taylor's music but I don't think it's Grammy worthy. It's all a popularity contest now.
