ONCE UPON A TIME
Bjørn Johan Muri Lyrics

(No more music)
(Turn off the lights)
(Imma turn my white horse around, we're gonna ride out.
L-BJ, talk to them)
Once upon a time a girl did everything I said
Once upon a , once upon a time.
Everytime I close my eyes, I hear the things she said
Once upon a, once upon a time.
And I live,
I live and learn each and every day.
Am I free,
I'll make it free, each and every day.

Hear me say,
No more music
(oh oh oh)
And there will be no more heartache.
(oh oh oh)

Once upon a time a girl was talking in her sleep.
Once upon a, once upon a time.
Didn't act but she was bound to make me bleed
Once upon a , once upon a time
And I live,
I live and learn each and every day.
Am I free,
I'll make it free, each and every day.

Hear me say,
No more music
(oh oh oh)
And there will be no more heartache.
(oh oh oh)
No more music
She's hotter then the inside of a dragon.
They said it never gonna happen, but it did.
Into the castle, got the princess and a whole lot of hassel.
Through snow inhale, I just didn't wanna fail
She liked things you can't do any where.
So I left her with nothing but a story to tell.
She kissed me,
I'm a frog now
Everybody knows I'm a blog now
She's prince blur.
That shit convince her
But her daddy don't allowe her,
Should have turned my horse around and left her in the tower,
Let's start pretending, let me get back to my happy ending
To my happy ending.
No more music
(oh oh oh)
(Climbing the gate cause it's over)
And there will be no more heartache.
(oh oh oh)
(Keeping my heart to myself)
No more music
(oh oh oh)
(And I can look for that happily ever after)
And there will be no more heartache.
(oh oh oh)
(So let's start pretending, let me get back to my happy ending)

(Turn off the lights)
(somebody shut that off)

Overall Meaning

The song "Once Upon a Time" by Bjørn Johan Muri is a breakup song that explores the experience of a man who has been hurt by a girl he loved. The opening lines of the song are symbolic of the man's decision to turn away from the relationship that has been causing him pain. The lines "No more music (oh oh oh) / And there will be no more heartache (oh oh oh)" suggest that he has decided to shut out the emotions he had for her and move on with his life.

The lyrics "Once upon a time a girl did everything I said / Once upon a time" suggest that the man had control over the relationship and the girl, who may have been in love with him, followed his every command. However, the second verse, "Once upon a time a girl was talking in her sleep / Once upon a, once upon a time / Didn't act but she was bound to make me bleed / Once upon a, once upon a time", indicate that the man was hurt by her, and he had to end the relationship to prevent further pain.

The lyrics "She's hotter than the inside of a dragon" and "She kissed me, I'm a frog now / Everybody knows I'm a blog now / She's prince blur" reveal the man's feelings of emasculation and humiliation after their breakup, despite the fact that he was once in control of the relationship. He acknowledges that his actions and decisions led to the end of their relationship, and he learns from his experience.
