The making of the video is documented in a bonus feature that appears on The Medúlla Videos DVD. According to the "making of" segment included on the DVD, Björk's drunken fall to the ground was staged with a stunt double. The feature focuses on the auditions for the bar patrons who had to be able to make the noises and sound effects required for the song.
The single was released on 28 February 2005 in the UK, and peaked at #31.
The song received its first live performance on April 20, 2008 at the Hammersmith Apollo in London. The live treatment features brass in the chorus.
" I guess the lyrics are probably about, just celebrating the body, you know the cells, doing all sort of coaster rides, up and down, your body and the blood and the lungs, basically singing ,beatboxing ,throat singing or yodelling or body slapping, whatever you do. It sort of celebrating that really. "

The video was directed by Spike Jonze, who also directed the video for "It's Oh So Quiet". In the video, Björk tires of her husband, played by a housecat, and storms out of the house for a night out on the town. She goes to a pub where the soundtrack stops and the locals (including Dokaka) join her for a special performance of the song recorded for the video. She eventually returns back home and rekindles her affections for her cat-husband.

Triumph of a Heart
Bjork Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
All through my fingers, the veins support
Blood that gushes impulsively towards
The triumph of a heart that gives all, that gives all
The triumph of a heart that gives all, that gives all
The stubborn trunks of these legs of mine
Heading upwards towards my kidneys
The triumph of a heart that gives all, that gives all
The triumph of a heart that gives all, that gives all
Smooth, soft, red, velvety lungs
Are pushing a network of oxygen joyfully
Through a nose, through a mouth but all enjoys, all enjoys
The triumph of a heart that gives all, that gives all
The triumph of a heart that gives all, that gives all
The triumph of a heart that gives all, that gives all
The triumph of a heart that gives all, that gives all
In "Triumph of a Heart," Björk explores the idea that the body, with its organs and physical systems, is an intricate and powerful machine that exists to support the workings of the heart. The first stanza of the song speaks specifically to the nervous and circulatory systems, both of which are essential to keeping the heart beating and ensuring that oxygen and nutrients are delivered throughout the body. Björk's use of language in this stanza is evocative - she describes the nerves as "sending shimmering signals" and the blood as "gushing impulsively," which creates a sense of vitality and movement.
The second stanza of the song shifts to focus on the legs and kidneys, which provide fuel to power the heart. The idea that the legs are "stubborn trunks" is interesting - it suggests that they are something to be overcome or transcended in order to reach a higher goal. The kidneys are also an important part of this equation, as they filter waste out of the blood to keep the body healthy.
