Spiral Architect
Black Sabbath Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Sorcerers of madness
Selling me their time
Child of god sitting in the sun
Giving peace of mind
Fictional seduction
On a black snow sky
Sadness kills the superman
Even fathers cry

Of all the things I value most of all
I look inside myself and see
My world and know that it is good
You know that I should

Superstitious century
Didn't time go slow
Separating sanity
Watching children grow
Synchronated undertaker
Spiral skies
Silver ships on plasmic oceans
In disguise

Of all the things I value most in life
I see my memories and feel their warmth
And know that they are good
You know that I should

Watching eyes of celluloid
Tell you how to live
Metaphoric motor-replay
Give, give, give
Laughter kissing love is showing me the way
Spiral city architect
I build, you pay

Of all the things I value most of all
I look upon my earth and feel the warmth
And know that it is good
You know that I should
You know that I should
You know that I should

You know that I should
You know that I should

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Black Sabbath's song Spiral Architect convey themes of the struggles of life and the human condition. The opening lines, "Sorcerers of madness Selling me their time" suggest that people are constantly being sold concepts of madness, which could refer to the negative influences that society can have on an individual. The line "Child of God sitting in the sun Giving peace of mind" seems to offer a sense of hope and peace amidst the chaos.

The phrase "fictional seduction on a black snow sky" could refer to the idea of being lured in by false promises and illusions, only to be left feeling empty or isolated. The line "Sadness kills the Superman, even fathers cry" could be referencing the idea that even those who are seemingly invincible or strong can be brought down by sadness and pain.

The chorus, "Of all the things I value most of all I look inside myself and see My world and know that it is good You know that I should" highlights the importance of self-reflection and being able to find happiness within oneself.

@charlesserre6928

You sir, are correct.

@Baard5Szomoru

aren't the lyrics about heavy drugs? heroin I think

@Jotizs

@@user-fx9vq7gf3j Intelligent lyrics, shift from a troubled acoustic composition to racing guitars, great vocal melody, great build-up, great instruments, great chorus, great structure. This song is as close to perfection as can be.

I've said it before and I'll say it again , they should have a mandatory Black Sabbath Day where all they do on the radio is play their whole catalog of songs from start to finish and let the world hear all the other brilliant tracks that this particular band created!!! So many folks out there only hear and know the handful of tracks that get the constant airplay! People are missing out , such a shame. BLACK SABBATH FOREVER 🤘🤘

@aetheric-r-us

@johndrake2729
