A Devil For Me
Black Veil Brides Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Well now is the time to say your prayers, and now is the time to show your stuff
Cause' people talk but people separate,
it's the same damn excuse when danger is headed your way

You talk the talk but do you walk the walk?
Your apathy is just a living flaw, you pull the trigger
count 1,2,3 it's a finger flip for you...and a devil for me
A wedding of the damned
This razor cuts the pain right out, we're bound until the end
My Love

You acted first you could have walked away, with broken parts and things you can't replace.
You pull the trigger
count 1,2,3 its an "anti christ" for you...fallen angel for me

(x2)A wedding of the damned

This razor cuts the pain right out, we're bound until the end
My Love

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of "A Devil For Me" by Black Veil Brides talk about a couple who is bound together until the end despite the troubles they may face. The opening lines of the song convey a sense of urgency and warn the listener to be prepared for danger. The song suggests that people will talk and try to divide you, but those who are truly committed will remain bound together. It's a warning to the listener to be true to themselves and not to be swayed by the opinions of others.

The second verse talks about someone who talks the talk but doesn't walk the walk. The song suggests that apathy is a flaw and that those who are truly committed will pull the trigger if necessary. The imagery of counting 1, 2, 3 as a finger flip is meant to be a metaphor for those who don't take things seriously. The chorus is repeated twice in this song, with the phrase "a wedding of the damned" being repeated both times. This suggests that the couple is almost fated to be together despite the challenges that they face.

In the end, "A Devil for Me" can be interpreted as a song about perseverance and commitment despite the difficulties that life throws in our way. It's a powerful way of saying that, no matter what happens, we should stay true to our convictions and never give up, even in the face of adversity.

+Limakaa This song was written when Andy was 15 or 16. Of course he's going to change as he grows up, and the band's style and music will change as well. They're not going to be playing "teenage garage band" music forever. They will grow and write better music to improve themselves.
