Blacklite District is originally from the Black Hills of South Dakota, and was founded by guitarist Kyle Pfeiffer, and vocalist Roman James. After years of writing songs and playing live in the Black Hills area, Kyle and Roman were discovered by Grammy Award-winning producer, Stephen Short in early 2011. This brought upon two new members to bring into the equation, bassist Chauncey “CK” Köchel, and session drummer Matt O'Rourke. CK and Matt began rehearsing with the band in the weeks leading up to entering the world’s largest residential recording studio, Sonic Ranch. With producer Stephen Short and engineer Charles Godfrey on board, Blacklite District recorded their 7-track debut album, “This is Where it Ends”, in the summer of 2011.
Following the completion of the album, the band relocated to Los Angeles, and has accomplished a lot in a short period of time. On September 30, the group's first single, "I'm Stil Right Here", debuted at Active Rock Radio in 5 states in the Midwest on X-ROCK 101.1 (KDDX), where it eventually hit the Top 20. On October 28, BLD debuted live at the World Famous Whisky A Go-Go on the Sunset Strip in Hollywood, CA. On 11-11-11, "This is Where it Ends" went on sale to digital retailers and has so far gotten rave reviews.
With a debut album out worldwide, a hit single at radio, and up-coming tour dates, it’s sure to say that this band strives for success. “We look forward to touring and getting our music out there,” says singer Roman James. “We know people are going to dig what they hear, especially if they’re tired of all the generic sounding music being released in todays 'sub-par' music industry.” Blacklite District combines heaviness with catchiness and has a distinct sound that separates them from other bands.
In early 2012, the band began a monumental promotion campaign in support of "This is Where it Ends", which will continue through out the year. The band's second single, "Left Behind", will be released to radio in new markets.
In the fall of 2012, BLD relocated from Hollywood, CA to Orlando, FL after signing a new management deal with famed Creed and Paramore manager Jeff Hanson, and will release a new album in late 2012 on Silent Majority Group/Warner Music Group.

Always react like it ain′t from love
Always believing that you keep on seeing that side of me
I know you had enough
Even when we were just friends
I knew that we had it special back then
I knew from the start that you stole my heart
I knew there was no way this was pretend
Right through these ups and downs
You know we're better now
Never say never now
Right through these ups and downs
You know we′re better now
Never say never now
I know the feeling of being so lonely
I try to confide in you, but I keep it low-key
Getting rid of all these feelings in my head
Deleting everything you ever said
Better off just being left on read
Try again
All of the messages I never sent
Hoping for time that I know I won't get
Everything gotta be tough
Always react like it ain't from love
Always believing that you keep on seeing that side of me
I know you had enough
Even when we were just friends
I knew that we had it special back then
I knew from the start that you stole my heart
I knew there was no way this was pretend
Right through these ups and downs
You know we′re better now
Never say never now
Right through these ups and downs
You know we′re better now
Never say never now
I know the feeling of being so lonely
I try to confide in you, but I keep it low-key
Getting rid of all these feelings in my head
Deleting everything you ever said
Better off just being left on read
Try again
All of the messages I never sent
Hoping for time that I know won't get
The lyrics to Blacklite District’s “Try Again” express the resilience of a love that has faced its fair share of obstacles. The singer acknowledges that everything has to be tough and that they always react as if it isn’t from love. They have a hard time showing vulnerability and being open about their feelings, even though they know that their partner has had enough. Despite this, they believe that they have a special connection with their partner that they knew from the start was real, and that their heart was truly taken.
The chorus declares a commitment to weathering through the ups and downs, because after everything they have been through, they are better together now. The “never say never” sentiment implies that even though there have been challenges, they are determined to make it work. However, the verses reveal the singer’s own struggles with loneliness and their difficulty in confiding in their partner, even though they long for the connection they once had. They are trying to move on from the hurtful things their partner has said in the past, but they can’t help but hold onto some hope for a reconciliation. The phrase “try again” is repeated throughout the song, suggesting that the singer is willing to put in the effort to overcome their issues and rebuild their relationship.
