Feelings
Blee Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
The lyrics to Blee's song "Feelings" are deeply metaphorical and abstract, making interpretation somewhat difficult. The opening lines, "Hands tied behind your back feelings of a cut tongue you fucking somber fucker and flailing of drones so I can speak again you forgot to kill me quieting me for a just second chance," seem to be about feeling silenced or restrained, unable to speak out or express oneself. The mention of drones could either refer to actual drones used in warfare or to a metaphorical "drone" of conformity and uniformity that silences individual thought and expression. The singer seems to be calling for a chance to be heard and to make their mark.
The next lines, "How many times will i solidify and defy so many more will crawl against you falling obscurity's calling to reach nowhere and nowhere is burning let me teach you how to praise my dick so i can show you how to shut your mouth," suggest a certain arrogance and unwillingness to compromise. The singer is determined to stand their ground and to force others to recognize their worth. The reference to burning nowhere could be interpreted as a commentary on the futility of trying to reach a nonexistent goal.
The final lines, "You decide alone even after this drone for your shell never spoke a word never spoke in time there's another pointless face in the crowd yet the face seems so oftenly proud," seem to be about the disappointment of realizing that others may not share one's ideals or vision. The singer is resigned to the fact that everyone must make their own choices, even if they don't align with the singer's desires. The "pointless face in the crowd" may represent the many people who conform to society's expectations without ever questioning their own motives or values.
