I acknowledge that confessing my faults is healthy for my spirit

Well now it's my turn
I am ready to confess my own mistakes and not just judge others'

I question how God is able to put up with my flaws

I continuously express my gratitude for God's blessings in my life

I'm always singing about how good you are
I constantly praise God for His goodness

But I don't always tell
However, I neglect to mention that my blessings are undeserved and despite my imperfections

That it's despite of myself
My blessings come not because of my own abilities or righteous deeds, but in spite of my shortcomings

You know I haven't been good
I am aware that I have not always met God's standards of morality

Some days I don't do what I should
There are moments where I choose to disobey God's commands

Yet your mercy somehow endures.
Despite my mistakes, God's compassion and forgiveness continues to persist.

There's no other love that compares to yours
God's love outshines any other human love.

It's hard to understand.
However, it can be difficult for humans to comprehend the depth of God's love

How you never repay me what I deserve
God's mercy surpasses any retribution that I may deserve for my wrongdoings

I think you that you're not like man
I am realizant that God's merciful nature is incomparable to human standards of justice

God's forgiveness is not dependent on any human meritocracy

See sometimes I desire to give hurt for hurt
At times, my fallen nature makes me want to retaliate against those who have wronged me

Yet I know that's not like you
However, I acknowledge that vengeance goes against God's nature of mercy and forgiveness

Yet this old flesh of mine tries to win every time
My flawed human nature often tries to overrule God's expectations

I'm grateful your word is true
I am thankful that God's word and promises are certain and dependable

You faithfully see me through
Despite my faults, God continuously guides me through life.
