Please talk about amblyopia as it pertains to adults. Much of what is on the internet covers the topic as it relates to children. I just had my fifth eye surgery (strabismus 2x, lateral tarsal strip, cataract, blepharoplasty) and have ongoing botox injections (blepharospasms). I also have dry eye issues and a blind eye. Needless to say, I look forward to each of your videos and always learn something new. Thank you!

I woke up one morning blind in my right eye. I went to my opthamologist and I was diagnosed with a branch retinal artery occlusion. I spent 3 days in the hospital having more tests than ever. They never found a cause for it. Luckily my vision came back but my Peripheral vision has permanent silver swirls in it. It’s so much better than full blindness. That was two years ago and every morning I still hold my breath when opening my eyes lol. Super scary.

@Connie Blackmon after the hospital gave me the blood thinner my vision came back quickly-maybe 5 hours total without vision. Although it came back it didn't come back the same. I have permanent vision loss in that eye but not blindness so I'm grateful. I see silver swirls that aren't really there however I'm used to it now.

Hi Jessica! Maybe I'm going on a limb here, but do you suffer from migraines too by any chance? If that's the case I would strongly recommend you to get tested for antiphospholipid antibodies with an hematologist to understand if this wasn't the underlying cause for your eye event and potentially prevent recurrence. Very interesting video, thank you! I was diagnosed with branch retinal occlusion in 2012 in my right eye! I had laser (the maximum)treatments and I get an injection of Eyelea every 6 weeks! I have just been diagnosed with glaucoma in the same eye and I’m using eye drops to control it so far, very successful! I’m doing quite well for a man of 71 years, and my vision is 20-20 in both eyes, thankfully! Take care! 😊

Thank you for this very clear & informative video. My ocular history reads like War & Peace!. I have had benign congenital nevus both eyes, strabismus ( treatment by surgery unsuccessful), epiretinal membrane peel surgery, retinal tear (fortunately did not lead to detached retina) & a branch retinal vein occlusion. Had cataract surgery with insertion of IOL just 3 weeks ago. I am very glad to have a wonderful retinal specialist. Am so grateful people like he & you decided to go into ophthalmic medicine & not IT!!

I’m a COA for a retina specialist and I loved this video (I actually do most of the FA’s for my clinic)! We treat vein and artery occlusions all the time. It so important for patients to not only know what to look out for and the risk factors, but how important it is to get treatment quickly and listen to the doctor’s advice! I see so many patients who I could have saved from so much vision loss if they hadn’t waited so long after having symptoms to be seen. Thanks so much for this video!

My right eye had a said 'stroke'. The ophthalmologist has refered me to specialist that is scheduled for January 4, 2023, about 20 days or so away. Funny, vegan-vegetarian... stress and some high blood pressure at a certain point might of caused this. One other thing, 64, 65 in 1 month, in early Spring i fell of a tree 18 feet high straight on my right back side. Broke couple ribs, bruised few more. Recoup fully, all in all, within 3 weeks. Dr couldn'tbelieve it. Just wondering if such a trauma could be at the base of my eye said 'stroke'? Vision in my right eye is about 60%, reading is difficult with this eye because letters disappear on me... really like this video and your very clear explanation :) cheers :)

I have this condition and seems certain blood pressure was the primary factor, had to be hospitalized for a few days because it had gotten up to the 220/130 range. I’ve been getting injections for about a year 1/2 and had slight improvement to my vision, my left eye where the occlusion happened definitely isn’t as sharp as my right but don’t seem to have holes in my vision I once did. He told me he didn’t see any more fluid my last couple visits and wants me to keep getting a few more to make sure things are stable. Reading the comments seems like most people tend to get it in their left eye, wonder if there is a reason for that?

Thank you so much for the excellent explainer video. I appreciate it so much. This is just what I have been suffering from since 2016 -- on top of my Daltonism from birth. After many, many (like a couple of dozen) Avastin and Eylea injections and a steroid implant that was the mother of all floaters for a couple of years, I am simply frustrated with my condition and stopped having my (right) eye pierced by a needle, however miniscule and thin, periodically, and getting no better vision. I guess I have resigned to having a bad right eye and a better left eye untiI get a stroke (pun not intended) of bad luck and have another episode in my left eye. Maybe have a retina transplant? Stem cell treatment? Laser surgery? A very specific prismatic lens to compensate for the irregularities in my retina surface? I mean, if the medical science today can come up with an mRNA or inactive virus vaccine within a year in response to a virus pandemic instead of like, I don't know, maybe ten years, why can't the researchers do something, anything, to an obviously age-related affliction which will one day visit some (if not most) of them too? Sorry for the rant, but I am frustrated...

Excellent video. Although I was inactive before I was 35, I became extremely active from that point on. I had optical migraines for years then suddenly had trouble seeing after looking at a bare lightbulb in my basement followed by blurry vision and seeing strange shapes in my vision. I went to my GP who looked into my eye and I could see the panic in his face immediately. It was retinal artery occlusion. Steroids injections which cased increased eye pressure which went away for 20 years and has now returned. On a drop today to reduce eye pressure. I’m 65 now and still don’t wear glasses. Your explanation was better than my own eye doctor of this condition.

I found this very interesting. My mother had diabetes for 40 years and arteriosclerosis in her later life. She had several strokes, one of the later ones affected one of her optic nerves. She lost her sight in a matter of a couple of days. She already had a tumour in her other eye.

Have you done a video on eye pain in one eye and if you haven't, could you consider making a video on that topic? I've been having a sharp stabbing pain in my left eye since 2013 and when it first occurred I thought I was developing allergies, but over time I've realized that this stabbing pain along with tearing occurs a day before it rains or snows and the pain is alleviated when I eat food, mostly fruit. The pain always begins early in the morning and usually subsides by the evening, though there have been occasions when the pain has lasted longer. The left eye is also sensitive to light when I have the stabbing pain. I still have vision in my left eye. When I told my eye doctor about what I was experiencing, they didn't know what it could be. My husband was just to the eye doctor the other day and he has open angle glaucoma and he is having trouble seeing in his right eye. The doctor diagnosed him with central retinal vein occlusion and we are to see the retina specialist today.
I am so glad I found this video. You really helped explain this very well.

I was diagnosed with an "Eye Stoke" or Retinal Vein Occlusion of my left eye. I have been receiving injections monthly since 2019 but I have never received a clear explanation of what that condition was. This is a fabulous educational video!

Future Video Request - I'm hoping to find information of homeopathic methods or eye exercises that may help control the swelling. After a steroid eye injection, the swelling is significantly reduced and vision improves but the swelling always seem to return. Dr Allen, so glad I found this video. I am a 71 yo female. Last July 17th I awoke and discovered my left eye was completely blurred. I already had an appt with my eye doc 3 days later so I didn't call with an emergency - it did clear a little. My eye doc sent me to the retina specialist, which was a week later. I was told by a resident who was taking my history (UAMS) that dehydration is a cause - I had seen my pcp a few weeks prior bc I had gotten dehydrated - just not drinking enough water. I started taking the monthly injections having received 5 so far. The specialist told me on my last visit that he would extend my visits to every 6-8 weeks to monitor. The blur in the lower right quadrant. It has improved greatly but the vision isn't great, however, the right eye has compensated. The doc told me that it will probably happen again. This concerns me. I worry that it can happen in my R eye then I will be up a creek. What say you? Thank you for your efforts to educate John Q.

Yes, a good thing to note is that this video was about a retinal stroke, You can also have a stroke that affects the visual cortex and other aspects of the brain that control eye movements. Usually, if vision improves past a stroke, it improves over the first 6 months. Vision therapy and special prism glasses can be used to help with the rehabilitation.

I had 14 out of 16 chemo treatments. I started seeing multicolor blocks by the 8th treatment off and on. Told the nurse. She just looked at me like she didnt believe me. This was in 2020. I went to my eye doctor last summer. My vision was so bad I couldnt drive. He said that chemo had caused me to have two busted blood vessels in my left eye. Eye doctor said I was looking to have surgery on that eye within the next two years. My vision is messing with me again. I bought new glasses last summer. He told me the busted blood vessels in my left eye are very common with chemo. My vision is 750. I have worn glasses since the 2nd grade. I am 59 years old. My vision before chemo was 650. It changed that fast. I couldnt see the big E on the chart. Also, under my left eye it looks almost like a medium black eye. This is from my busted blood vessel? I am also diabetic type 2. The chemo raised my blood sugar due to the medicine that the nurse injected into my port. My eye is hurting now. Pain off and on. Driving with a hat on. The sun hurts my left eye. Night time, I try to not drive. The vehicles lights, especially the bright ones hurts my left eye. What should I do? Go back to my eye doctor. Have you ever heard of anyone having troubles like this in their eye or eyes from chemo. Thank you for this video.

Wow! So interesting. I had a ruptured brain aneurysm - a right Paraopthalmic aneurysm, which is a type of stroke. Thank God I did not go blind. Every once in a while, maybe once a year, I will experience an ocular migraine. I have noticed that this comes from extremely bright direct light and strobe lights. Maybe this would be a good topic to do a video.

Great explanation.. Thank you so much.. I was diagnosed with a CRVO this morning and had my first injection. My doc said it's very possible that in a few months I will get my vision back to normal. Right now I see a dark grey cloud blocking my vision right in the middle with distortion surrounding it. I guess I'm seeing the blood and thunder from the back side. Oh, and a perfectly round black dot at the bottom of my vision which is the injected meds doing its job. Keep up the great work.

@TRQ It sounds pretty scary but, the injections are pretty quick and almost painless. I had 3 in total, 2 were painless and 1 I felt a little. It goes quick and it's worth it.

@LB Carl Hi, LB.. I ended up having a total of three injections to clear up my central retinal vein occlusion. After two, I didn't notice my eye clearing up anymore. Sadly, I ended up detaching my retina after the third injection of Avastin. My doctors told me that it was just "bad luck" that my retina detached and had nothing to do with my injections, I have my doubts tho. . I have had a total of two detachments and three surgeries. My eye is currently attached with a buckle and silicone oil installed to aid with the reattachment. I'm hoping to regain some peripheral vision in my eye with it's all said and done. Please don't let my experience worry you at all... We are all different with our situations. I'm wishing you good vision..

@Danny Lorenze sorry to hear what happen to you. In my case, my doctor told me it’s a non-schemic case, meaning there’s a major possibility that my vision will be back to 20/20 after my 3rd injection. She said the possible cause of my CRVO is due to my hypertension. My BP fluctuates, sometimes when it’s high it’s148/98 but when it’s normal it’s about 110/82. I noticed every time I stop my normal walk in the morning, my BP spikes. I guess walking really helps. Hopefully my eyesight will be back to normal after the 3rd injections.

Thank you! I was using my cellphone one night over this past week when I noticed my vision suddenly became blurry (right eye only). The room was completely dark except for the glow of my cellphone at which I was staring. My vision history includes LASIK in 2005, and I have not experienced any major problems with my vision. I am mostly inactive these days, and I believe I drank two beers on the same night that my vision changed. I will try to exercise more, continue my low sodium and low sugar diet in hopes of reducing my chances of experiencing a stroke or heart attack.

I have a terrific ophthalmologist. I’ve received Eyelea injections for over nine years. The eye responds well and I benefit from approximately twelve weeks before the cycles restarts. I’ve the years my visual acuity to read fine detail has eroded. My doctor says this is as good as I get.

While still receiving Eyelea in the left eye - the CRVO developed in my right eye as well. I had twelve vials of blood drawn and was referred to an hematologist/oncologist- who found nothing unusual. This eye is more needy, requiring an injection every six weeks or so.

I’m really beginning to tire of all of this, but I also treasure my vision. Is there anything more I could consider to improve my outcomes?

I'm happy to know this information I have lost vision now for 3 months due to mini stroke within my right eye, vision went from 100% to about 30% in seconds, I had no other symptoms, went to my eye doctor 12 hours after it happened in evening, saw an ophthamologist that same day to find out I had an central area perfusion retina surrounded by retinal edema, and dec artery and vein calibre. all else normal such as pressure blood work etc. my blood pressure was 138/80 it has been 109/60 p 56 on blood pressure meds off meds still ok 106/56 to 135/65 p56 I'm failing to see how my blood pressure is too high, had CT scan normal, heart ultrasound normal heat monitor 3 days normal I'm vegan for 4 years now but had stress due to my Mom passing few months ago. not on any medication but going to see gp for another check after 3 month blood work

Late reaction...had a CRVO in 2015. Also had the once a month (experimental) shot in my eye. When I google for info that time, search said that "Eye stroke" is still unexplained, no cure , but vision might or might not return in the future. After watching your vlog today (2021), made me realized I didn't search enough. That it can be explained. My case also had floaters in said eye, and black colored lines looks crooked. I can only see clearly colored things. But thanks for your video. More power to you...

I shared my story with you on another video, but will post here too since this is the actual topic. In 2017, I was staying in the town where my mom was hospitalized and noticed my vision getting a bit blurry. I figured it was time to see the eye doc to get a new glasses. Well, each day it got worse, so I decided to see an eye doctor in that town. The front desk told me they couldn't see me for 3 weeks, but when I told them my symptoms, they saw me right away. I had a BRVO and had lost about 70% of my vision. The best way to describe it is like I was looking at lasagna noodles, wavy. I got injections of Avastin for the next 2 1/2 years. I'm holding steady at about 35% vision loss, so I got half my vision back. I use Lumigan drops every night to keep the pressure down. Sadly, they never used the word stroke, or recommended that I see my primary care physician, so it was another year before I got my blood pressure under control. Thank you so much, Dr. Allen for the great info provided here!! You are helping so many people.

@Nancy K My doctor is Lemley in Medford Oregon. I got 18 injections over a 2 1/2 year period. No side effects and I regained half of the lost vision. It is actually 36 injections because they give you a shot with a thinner needle with something to numb the eye for the injection of the bigger needle containing the medicine.

Thanks for explaining central venous occlusion. I had this about a year ago, but with COVID restrictions I didn’t go for treatment immediately, had three injections and then laser treatment, most of the retina has died off, and vision is sadly lacking in that eye. It was all explained to me at the time but I didn’t retain the information very well, I was a worried about all the consequences. Thanks.

Hi Dr Allen! This is my first time commenting using this account ( I was the commenter that told you about how you helped solve my dry eye situation I think 2 videos back). I wanted to request this particular topic because I have FINALLY figured out what's going on with my eyes and why I couldn't wear my contact lenses back to back, but there's not a lot of info on the internet about these conditions.

The topic is Contact Lens Peripheral Ulcers (CLPU) and also Marginal Keratitis, bc these two are very similar in physical appearance. Hope you can teach us briefly on these in a future video :)

Well I had an occlusion. It also shed a light on my high blood pressure too. In a way better than a brain stroke. My BP was measured at 215. I even actually saw the thing happen in my eye too, my vision went blurry. This was about two years ago now, gotten much healthier in the mean time. Leading up to that I was having massive head aches since 2012. I'd even wake up with them. So lucky in a way. Since getting my bp under control I've not had a single headache ever. Anyway, permanent damage is that I have a blur in the center of my left eye and I require eye injections every 4-8 weeks. Just had another yesterday. They inject chemo medicine. I was told that the eye would keep trying to supply blood and create new pathways and those are pushing on the macular, (sight blur). The chemo medicine retards that. It does get a bit better after each injection then needs another.

You are the first person I've come across who has truly explained this to me. All I've been told is I have a blood clot in my eye cutting off blood supply causing more veins to 'grow which are leaking and I have had two injections so far but was told to come back in ten weeks instead of 3 or 4 for my next. In the meantime, the pressure in my eye is worse than ever, I cannot see close up at all in my right eye and the distance is getting worse, but not as bad as the close up. I sent a message over to my eye doctor last night and am awaiting a response. I'm concerned I'm going to lose vision permanently. I was under the impression the injections were a cure but now I'm not sure. I started having TIAs after having Covid and now other issues and not really getting any help..the eye issues seem to be another by-product of covid.

@Adam Ross my eyesight improves ONLY after an injection. I had to be put on BP medication as (another covid byproduct is my BP went way up). The high BP was making my vision worse and swelling, so in that regards the bp medication helps but in general, like I said, my vision improves only after the injection and it's okay for about 2-1/2 weeks then the pressure and swelling return. I've been having them now every 6 weeks but I think 4 would be better. I had an injection yesterday and asked everyone from techs to the Dr., will I ever not have to have these? Will vision come back, will blood clot go away. The doctor said 'It stabilizes vision' keeps it from getting worse and at some point most people may not need the injections. It wasn't a comforting thought. I am glad I still have vision (but again after 4 weeks, it deteriorates for me again). I'm sorry to hear you are in a similar situation. Maybe yours will improve sooner. I hope for you, it does!

I have occlusions in both eyes. The first one was the worst which I got in my 20's (I am 56 now). Its almost at my centre of vision and very small. It leaked a little and I am left with a tiny blind spot. Its like a little cloudy vision.
I have 1 or 2 others but way off to the sides.
From time to time I get 20 minute occlusions that manifest as small white spots in my vision which fade. The permanent occlusions started the same way but never faded.
The eye docs said at the time it was quite unusual for somebody my age and fitness.
I am on aspirin ever since.
I am recently diabetic type 2.
I am on anti-cholesterol pills.

I had a crvo a couple of years ago in my left eye. My vision went to 20/400. After the first injection it improved to 20/40. I do have distortion in that eye which I hope will improve over time, not sure if that will happen though. It's amazing how the body works. I only notice the distortion when I close my right eye. Good thing I walk around with both my eyes open, everything looks fine then.

@Liz Cambre No, not painful at all. They numb your eye and will place a device on your eye so it stays open. The injection is very quick. An eye injection may sound scary but in reality it's no big deal. I've had quite a few.

My cousin, only 28yrs old and about to turn 29 tomorrow, had this occur in both her eyes a week ago with no prior signs of anything being wrong with her eyes. She is now partially blind in both her eyes to the point where she cannot even see what’s on TV. She’s in Arizona just outside of Sedona. I’m very concerned for her, as she won’t be able to have a normal life ever again if her vision does not at all recover. Do you happen to know what the best hospital or care facility is within that area or Arizona as a whole? Within the USA? I just want to know the options for her. This is very devastating.

I just had a visit yesterday with a Retina Specialist. I had also been having unbelievable sinus pressure from allergies, never had it this bad! I saw the vein in question , right eye...we are still not sure how it happened. Had some type of debris blurring my vision , but all else, pressure on both eyes, vision in the left eye, everything else checked out great! Was started on drops for a few weeks for the swelling and on day 2, already seeing signs of improvement! I can read now, it's still a bit blurry, but the Dr. has me on the way to recovery! Blessings @doctoreyehealth I have bilateral hemianopia ever since 8 y/o and am considering prk surgery at 32. I went through the tests and I was considered good candidate for this procedure and even have an upcoming appointment for the procedure in december...but wanted to hear your thoughts on this...I know prk is not going to return my lateral vision but the idea of not having to wear glasses seems to clear more sight from my tunnel vision as I tried contacts and have been kind of hard to put and remove. I see you have good videos on contacts so I will be seeing those but since i made a prk surgery appointment didn't buy the contacts and just using the sample few but I want your sincere opinion on this as I dont want to risk my remaining vision as I basically see with 50%+- of each eye. (Bilateral hemianopia post craneopharingioma removal) Please answer asap, also if you would post on bilateral hemianopia and modern treatments if any, well thanked, im 32 lady and feel so proud of you knowing so much and pray God for a lifetime couple that gets my condition and could even help me try to live as independent as possible with my condition as I don't drive, travel by myself, etc...lol...will keep praying for that...thanks in advance...blessings and all the best from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 😘🌊

Many blessings! Thanks for sharing your story. If your surgeon thinks PRK would work for you then I think it would bring you some freedom from glasses and contacts. As far ad your hemionopia, there is little that can be done. Prism glasses can sometimes be used to help with shift vision toward the defect. Unfortunately prk cannot correct prism.

But we do have lasik laser centers in Puerto Rico. Should I consult one of these lasik clinics to see if Im lasik candidate or just go with the prk done by my neuro ophthalmologist, thank you... also I have no pituitary gland so not sure how my body will auto heal from surgery...any thoughts on this? Blessings Dr. EYE Yesterday I decided to go to a laser vision center for a second opinion on prk/lasik process. I was shocked by the ophthalmologist who denied myself any visual correction procedure because he says because of my bilateral hemianopia he don't want my sight to be confused with an off-center process. As per his opinion with a prk/lasik procedure I can loose my sight as it can get very destabilized. He said I am going to lose vision through the eye because I see half of it and if I happen to have an off-centered procedure I can lose my sight completely. So in his practice and in his field he does not recommend it. And he even signed a paper as "not a candidate, bilateral hemianopia, contraindication" He hoped my neuro ophthalmologist would have told me NO (this is the one who even scheduled me for a prk surgery😳) ...He also mentioned noone with bilateral hemianopia has ever had that surgery done in his office (perhaps because he wouldn't let it happen just as I was deniedthe process for my protection. According to him, a patient with a neurological hemianopia, in his practice he does not recommend prk/lasik because if I have a decentration of the focal point and it falls into the hemianopia itself during the surgery I will have blurred vision for the rest of my life 😱... so his recommendation was DO NOT TOUCH THOSE EYES (with any refractive surgery)... recommendation keep using Glasses and contact lenses ... but this really left in shock as my neuroophtalmologist who's been my doctor for over 20 years didnt mentioned anything like this and even scheduled me for a prk corrective surgery... for now I thought canceling my procedure and looking for a third opinion from another neuro ophthalmologist who does this kind of procedures... what are your thoughts? Hopefully you see this... brief history... I'm 43, a severe myopic, eyes are -20.5, had 4 injections in 2014 due to retinal tear, and experienced most eye related problems at some point...

Starting in early 2020… i experienced a visual distortion that looked like a crocodile mouth opening facing left, the integrity of shape changes over twenty minutes and goes away, this happened 2 more times through summer 2021 and the 3rd event ended up making an eye perimeter shape and eventually faded away... Had visual field test shortly after and I've lost a good amount of lower peripheral.

Had another event a week ago, same mouth shape but facing right, stayed around 20 minutes and since then, I've noticed about 20-30 degrees out from center vision is distorted in both directions in that shutting in that range doesn't exist in my perception.

Curious if this is what you are talking about here and if you have any thoughts.

I'm so glad you posted this video! I had my vein occlusion in my left eye when I was 22 and my optometrist at the time said that there was nothing they could do in order to fix the blind spot that was created. I have an eye doctor appointment next week and I'm going to mention this video to him to see if there's anything we can do at this point. You've really opened my eyes! (Pun intended lol)

8 months ago I thought I had an eye floater, my ophthalmologist said I had optic nerve swelling and ordered me to go to a neuro ophthalmologist. They wanted to rule out brain tumor since I didn't have any other diagnosis of high blood pressure or diabetes. MRI showed nothing abnormal and within three weeks the swelling was gone but no return to the vision. I wish I had gone to a doctor that would have tried an injection I might have had a fighting chance to have my vision back. Maybe you could do a video on optic nerve swelling, if there's anything further to talk about. Thank you so much

I had a stroke in my eyes during an angiogram, when nurses applied too much pressure to the artery in my leg (I couldn’t have the usual plug). I could only see half of each person. I had to shout to get the nurses attention..they immediately ceased the pressure and tried different measures. My sight recovered but is much worse than before this happened.

The old joke, "I need that like a need a needle in my eye" is about to come true and the joke is on me. I was just diagnosed with BRVO with macular edema yesterday when I saw my ophthalmologist after noticing a problem in my left eye 3-4 days earlier. He referred me (you guessed it) to a retinal specialist, who I will be seeing tomorrow. Really appreciate all of this outstanding information. It will help me better address the questions I'm going to have for my retinal specialist tomorrow. I hope I get some good news. But it sounds like I'll be getting a needle or two in my eye, which I'd rather have than my central vision being a blurry, jumbled mess.

In 2016 I had what they called a stroke on my write eye. I was seen by the retinal specialist at Emory college in Atlanta I was there for two weeks they couldn’t tell me why it happened I was sent home with no treatment. Later that year my left die did the same thing I saw a retinal specialist at Augusta hospital in Georgia. I was sent home after three days with no treatment. 2019 I went to Duke University and saw a specialist of which kind I don’t know. I was sitting on my way the same day being told there was no treatment. I literally got more and more blind every day and it sounds like you’re telling me there’s been a treatment for a while. I don’t understand.

I had a Branch vein occlussion on my right eye (I was 29 years old) in 2017. I’ve been getting injections since then, My vision do gets clear, but as the medication wears off, the macular edema returns ( blurry and distorted vision) . The escotomas (blind spots) seem to be permanent. I was told my occlussion is ischemic. But in more recent angiographies, my Retina Specialist reported that the Ischemia is diminishing. So far I’ve seen several doctors. Some reccomend Laser and Steroid implant, but others are against since I don’t have hemorrages / or neovasculation to justify the use of laser, and the unwanting side effects of steroids (considering my young Age and that the effectiveness of Steroids is equal to the anti-vegs injections) Or at least this is what I’ve been told.

@Adam Ross I would say that the less isquemia my eye experiences, the more time I Can extend time between injections. Right now Is around 9 weeks before symptoms of isquemia (Blurriness, specially right after waking up) slowly returns. My vision lost is unfortunately beyond repair. The best I Can do is prevent lossing more vision.

@Doctor Eye Health I don't notice it much at all any more. It's faded almost completely after 2 years. The only time I notice it is if I am wearing my daily disposable lenses and look at a bright light of uniform color, so it doesn't affect anything. I never see it at all wearing the Acuvue with Transitions lenses. It was from a blood clot caused by pancytopenia after chemo. That's not the only change, my prescription improved by almost a whole diopter, was wearing -5.5 and now only need -4.75

Adam: I recently had chemo....and I have had vision loss........... I can't see objects below the straight-ahead line of sight. Very frustrating. Is that similar to cotton wool spot? Can you describe what you see or what don't you see?

Dr. have you heard of or know of any cases of using Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber to treat CRVO or any of the Retinal Vein Occlusions, including Macular Degeneration?

I had a question. For context I have developed new floaters in both eyes at the same time, and I have had them for about three weeks. No other symptoms have happened, specifically no changes in my ability to see. What could have caused these floaters? I was worrying that it could have been a retinal detachment, but like I said, I have had no changes in vision, and have even taken blows to the head do to my participation in martial arts, yet no change in vision. Another possibility I have considered was that with a virtual school setting, the high amount of time spent on computer screens. In fact, the floaters came about approximately one week after a virtual mock trial competition in which my team mates and I spent hours on the computer.

Can you use contacts too? I wear glasses myself although not when I have a social event but I will keep them in my purse in case I want to look at something with better vision.

I have a question for you. I have been meaning to mention at my last eye doctor's appointment and Dr's appointment. but forgot. who should I talk to about my eye-bulging slightly temporarily for 15-30 seconds. (partially believe due to certain stress- not 90% sure though)? it feels weird and my sight fades? or blurs more as it happens. ty in advance - love your videos!!!

I accidentally tripped this morning and it's too hot outside, a few minutes later a few dark line appear at my vision and it went black suddenly. It's hard for me to breath and to stand straight, I turned pale and sweat cold. I rest my eye for minutes and slowly my vision came back even though it felt like I'm dreaming because my vision is darker than usual. I can see right now but I'm afraid it will go back.

Doctor thanks for ur essessntial information,I got vitrectomy and cataract surgery last january after that I finally gained my vision at 20/20 but suddenly..last friday my right eye got bleed imside of my retina or got huge floaters on it...after a couple of hours when I notice the floaters was gone it suddenly blurred my vision and what am seeing now is almost a shadow when I saw object..I rushed to my opthamology and performed an avastin injection this early morning couple of hours ago I still have blurry visiom on my right eye..pls doctor what should I do..any remedy I can perform?specially in natural way to bring back my vision?pls help
