Vertigo
Blind Rhetoric Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Got a fish and I'll let it go, sad
Got a vision, a hold, my own, might break
And one, "why," could unravel everything

I'll feed at my own rise, defeat at my eyes
There's a cold wind in this house
There's a cold wind inside
And I'm late for, oh late for my life

Oh well what about
Our lot of lows
Amphetamine to my hope
Theres a finite times the rooster crows
It's time to get a move on

Got a hook and cannot let it go, sad
Got a vision, a soul, my own, might break
And one, "why," could unravel everything

I'll feed at my own rise defeat at my eyes
Theres a cold wind in this house
Theres a cold wind inside
And I'm late for, oh, late for my life

Oh well what about
Our lot of lows
Amphetamine to my hope
Theres a finite times the rooster crows
It's time again

Face
Off
All your puppets bleed the same

See it
Son
Sold everything away

One
Tide
Wouldn't take me far away

Oh well what about
Our lot of lows
Amphetamine to my hope

Theres a finite times the rooster crows
It's time to get a move on

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Blind Rhetoric's song "Vertigo" convey a sense of urgency and introspection. The song is about a protagonist who has a fish and cannot let it go, as well as a vision of life that might break. The line "And one, 'why,' could unravel everything" suggests that the singer is questioning their decisions and motivations. The line "I'll feed at my own rise, defeat at my eyes" seems to indicate that the singer is struggling with conflicting feelings of hope and defeat. The lines "There's a cold wind in this house / There's a cold wind inside" suggest a sense of unease or discomfort.

The chorus repeats the lines "Oh well what about / Our lot of lows / Amphetamine to my hope / There's a finite times the rooster crows / It's time to get a move on." The phrase "lot of lows" suggests that the singer has experienced struggles and setbacks, but is still holding onto hope ("amphetamine to my hope"). The line "finite times the rooster crows" implies that time is limited and precious, and that the singer needs to take action ("it's time to get a move on").

The final stanza uses short, fragmented lines to create a sense of urgency and intensity. The lines "See it / Son / Sold everything away" seem cryptic and open to interpretation. The line "One / Tide / Wouldn't take me far away" suggests that the singer is searching for escape or change, but is struggling to find it. The song ends with a repeat of the chorus, emphasizing the need to take action and move forward.

Yes, the longer, the better! Any type of content is interesting, especially when it's educative. I like that you explained how the blood vessels are damaged.
Also, maybe one day you can make a video collaboration with Doctor Mike. You guys are my 2 top favourite doctors on YouTube.

Please talk about amblyopia as it pertains to adults. Much of what is on the internet covers the topic as it relates to children. I just had my fifth eye surgery (strabismus 2x, lateral tarsal strip, cataract, blepharoplasty) and have ongoing botox injections (blepharospasms). I also have dry eye issues and a blind eye. Needless to say, I look forward to each of your videos and always learn something new. Thank you!

I like the longer discussion's. If you're looking for topic ideas do another live chat, there's always a lot of questions there. You don't have to address all of them, but instead do a series of recaps Questions and Answers of the live chats.

Great video & information. I am a certified ophthalmic assistant studying for my technician certificate, any and all information is very helpful. I currently work in glaucoma, retina & oculoplastic clinics. I'd love to learn more about thyroid eye disease, dermatochalsis/ptosis, nerve palsy (I've had a few pts with cn7, cn6 & cn3 conditions) also Horner syndrome. Thank you for educating people on getting a yearly eye exam, I preach it to every pt, family member & friend I talk to! Looking forward to your next video.

I woke up one morning blind in my right eye. I went to my opthamologist and I was diagnosed with a branch retinal artery occlusion. I spent 3 days in the hospital having more tests than ever. They never found a cause for it. Luckily my vision came back but my Peripheral vision has permanent silver swirls in it. It’s so much better than full blindness. That was two years ago and every morning I still hold my breath when opening my eyes lol. Super scary.

Yes it brings much anxiety

Connie Blackmon

May I ask how long it took you to get your vision back?

Jessica H

@Connie Blackmon after the hospital gave me the blood thinner my vision came back quickly-maybe 5 hours total without vision. Although it came back it didn't come back the same. I have permanent vision loss in that eye but not blindness so I'm grateful. I see silver swirls that aren't really there however I'm used to it now.
