Shine On
Blind Zero Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

She stepped into the park
I gave up looking for angels
Each moment loving the last one
The fear is walking us by
I understand all her demons
Relying on the day she will see
Shine on
Your freedom,I cannot bear
I'll try to be immune to the sadness
Now I pretend we are lovers
I keep wondering why
Shine on

You defy, I remain
Prisoner of your decisions
I dream, you laugh
I can remember how it started
One day, you'll see
Detaills will make all the difference
I love you, goodbye

Now you know i'm gone
Shine on

Overall Meaning

The above lyrics of "Shine On" by Blind Zero are suggestive of a heart-wrenching story of a person who is deeply in love in spite of knowing it is a futile effort. From the very first line of the song, the singer sees the world as a bleak place and how he has given up looking for angels. He feels like he is stuck in a moment with the woman he loves and is virtually powerless against the fear that walks with them. The singer understands all the demons of his lover but cannot escape the sadness and turmoil it brings him.

In the second verse, the singer laments how he cannot bear the freedom of his lover and tries hard to remain immune to the sadness that comes with it. He keeps pretending that they are still lovers and wonders why she defies the relationship between them. He acknowledges that he is a prisoner of her decisions and keeps dreaming of a better tomorrow. However, he knows that one day, the details will make all the difference and that he needs to let go of the woman he loves. In the end, the singer says his final goodbye to his lover, wishing her well to shine on.
