The single was released on January 18, 2000, and promptly charted worldwide, becoming a number one hit on Billboard's Modern Rock Tracks chart, peaking at number two on the UK Singles Chart, and crossing over to pop radio and peaking at number six on the Billboard Hot 100. The song remains the band's most successful single to date, being their only song to break the Top 40. The song charted within the top 20 in ten other countries, and gained greater significance due to its accompanying music video, which parodies and mocks the boy bands Backstreet Boys, 98 Degrees, and 'N Sync and the pop singers Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera. The video was popular in rotation on MTV's Total Request Live, leading to criticism from those who felt their basis for parody was thin.
"All the Small Things" was selected by Rolling Stone as one of the "100 Greatest Pop Songs", and is listed in the 2010 book 1001 Songs You Must Hear Before You Die.

True care, truth brings
I'll take one lift
Your ride, best trip
Always, I know
You'll be at my show
Watching, waiting
Commiserating
Say it ain't so, I will not go
Turn the lights off, carry me home
Na-na, na-na, na-na, na-na, na, na
Na-na, na-na, na-na, na-na, na, na
Na-na, na-na, na-na, na-na, na, na
Na-na, na-na, na-na, na-na, na, na
Late night, come home
Work sucks, I know
She left me roses by the stairs
Surprises let me know she cares
Say it ain't so, I will not go
Turn the lights off, carry me home
Na-na, na-na, na-na, na-na, na, na
Na-na, na-na, na-na, na-na, na, na
Na-na, na-na, na-na, na-na, na, na
Na-na, na-na, na-na, na-na, na, na
Say it ain't so, I will not go
Turn the lights off, carry me home
Keep your head still, I'll be your thrill
The night will go on, my little windmill
Say it ain't so, I will not go (na-na, na-na, na-na, na-na, na, na)Turn the lights off, carry me home (na-na, na-na, na-na, na-na, na, na)
Keep your head still, I'll be your thrill (na-na, na-na, na-na, na-na, na, na)
The night will go on (na-na, na-na, na-na, na-na, na, na)
The night will go on (na-na, na, na)
My little windmill
The lyrics of Blink-182's "All The Small Things" offer a poignant perspective on the intricacies of love, relationships, and the small moments that carry significant weight in our lives. The opening lines, “All the small things / True care, truth brings,” set the tone for the entire song, emphasizing that it is often the minor details and acts of kindness that define a relationship. The singer expresses an understanding that these small gestures are not insignificant; rather, they reveal a deeper emotional connection between two people. Phrases like “I’ll take one lift / Your ride, best trip” suggest a sense of shared experiences and mutual support—two partners navigating life together. This portion of the song evokes a feeling of intimacy, highlighting the singer's awareness that their companion will always be present, whether in the audience at a show or simply by being supportive during life's ups and downs.
As the song progresses, the repetition of “Say it ain't so, I will not go” serves to reinforce a longing for stability and connection. The sentiment here may reflect an inner dialogue—an earnest plea to maintain the relationship amidst challenges. The imagery of turning off the lights and being carried home evokes a sense of vulnerability, suggesting a desire to retreat to safety and comfort after a long day. The carefree repetition of "na-na" creates an infectious, almost childlike exuberance, juxtaposed with the deeper themes of uncertainty and yearning for reassurance. It becomes a mantra, a reminder of shared moments that transcend more complex feelings. This line encapsulates the emotional pull of the song, framing the experience of love as both exhilarating and frightening—a delicate balance of wanting to escape and yearning to stay grounded.
Transitioning into the next verses, the song captures the essence of everyday life—the notion of mundane struggles, as the singer observes, “Work sucks, I know.” This candid acknowledgment of life's trials adds authenticity to the emotional landscape of the song. The mention of roses left by the stairs is particularly poignant; it highlights an act of caring that stands in stark contrast to life's chaos. In this moment, the flowers symbolize affection and thoughtfulness, reminding both the singer and the listener of the power of small gestures in nurturing relationships. This notion of surprise—a simple act that communicates care—underlines the song’s central theme that love is often expressed through the trivialities of daily life. It reinforces the idea that meaningful connections often stem from moments that may seem inconsequential but actually breathe life into relationships.
In the final verses, the imagery becomes increasingly emotive, with lines like “Keep your head still, I’ll be your thrill.” This intimate expression hints at promises of support and excitement, suggesting that together, the couple creates a unique synergy that elevates their experiences. The expression “my little windmill” evokes a playful and whimsical quality, suggesting a carefree spirit that mends the more serious undertones present in the earlier portions of the song. The repeated chorus solidifies the melody and emphasizes the core message—that amidst the uncertainties of love, the significant beauty lies in the small moments that define a shared journey. Ultimately, “All The Small Things” is a celebration of love’s subtleties, a reminder that through the seemingly trivial details, profound connections are built, and cherished memories are created.

Yo i feel you. Welcome to the Blink182 world my friend.. from now on you'll understand what severe addiction really is.. you'll listen to their songs and watch to their videos to exhaustion, over and over again.. you'll probably dream that you met them in person and are hanging out / having a good time with one or more of them.
You'll discover that you were born gifted with a great talent related to music.. and that is: when you hear songs you have the ability to learn and remember songs lyrics VERY fast.... Blink182 songs lyrics to be more specific.
This band means so much for so many people, me included.. i literally learned how to play guitar, bass and drums because of them, and i can play +-80% of their songs on each instrument.
I'm a brazilian and unfortunelly Blink182 never came to Brazil.
When they were at their peak they were coming to Brazil to play some shows but a few days before it happens Travis hurted one of his feet and couldnt play the drums for some weeks.. so they had to cancel the shows in Brazil.
But it's ok... i'm grateful for having access to all of their songs and videos on the internet.

Unless you were 6 when this was released and jammed out to it on your best friend neighbors cd player. My mom bought me a light blue boom box you could use either batteries or the cord to play this cd. I wish music still sounded like this. Rock is dead
