the greatest parts
of the greatest songs
the only ones to feel
the saddest parts of the broken hearts
are you getting kind of tired
are you gettind drunk and wired
you're coming on too strong
and they're moving along
you're going out of style
you feel so human
you put in all this work
you drink your thirst
and make it worse
but what if all this time
your great escape
was a great mistake?
the honeymoon is over
the novelty got older
you're trying too hard
you're coming on too strong
and they're moving along
you're going out of style
and you feel so human
and you feel so useless
hey hey hey, oh, oh, oh
you're trying too hard
you're coming on too strong
and they're moving along
you're going out of style
and you feel so human
and you feel so useless
The lyrics to "Human" by Blip Blip Bleep focus on the struggle of trying to keep up with societal expectations and feeling like a failure. The beginning of the song discusses the experience of being the only one to truly appreciate great music, and the only one to feel the true emotions of a broken heart. However, this quickly shifts to the feeling of being left behind as others move on to the next big trend, leaving the singer feeling like they are going out of style. The chorus emphasizes the feeling of being human and thus, fallible, in this fast-paced world.
The second verse continues with the theme of trying too hard and making things worse, as the singer questions whether their pursuits have been a mistake all along. The final part of the song emphasizes the feeling of uselessness that can come with feeling left behind, and ends with a repetitive chant of "hey hey hey, oh, oh, oh." Overall, the song speaks to the struggle of keeping up with expectations and feeling like a failure when you can't.
