In various combinations and guises, the group had already played a long time together before the "crystalization event" in July 2000 on the slopes of the famous volcano Mt. Hood. Since then they have performed for audiences of all ages and socioeconomic groups, mostly playing close to home and for many years distributing recordings like itinerant madmen, for free.

Throw some change up on the bomb
She aught my eye through the swinging door
She was standing out by my car
I said I thought you moved to the city girl
No one never did find the time I've been wasting away, at my sister's place
Just North of the county line
To the road that leads to town
Thinking all the ways that I broke your heart
Yeah, thinking how it all went down
And I'm saying it's a strange thing to see you now
I've been running so long on the same old ground
Gonna rattle these chains till the morning light
If I ever loved once, you know
I never loved right by you
So we go up to the turn-pipe
Where the whole world turns to sky
I took her hand, but she drew away
Like a bird getting ready to fly
She said I ain't so young, and I met someone
He's a rock that just won't roll
And I gotta find out, if I only love once
So does love keeṗ coming to call
'Cause it's a strange thing to see you now
I've been running so long on the same old ground
Gonna rattle these chains till the morning light
If I ever loved once, you know
I never loved right by you
There's a half built house in the potter's field
All the timbers are turned to gray
There's an old brown dog living on the porch
I seen them just the other day
Well I laid those planks, and I drove those nails
But it never did satisfy him
And a man must forfeit all he owns
For a glimpse at the reason why
It's a strange thing to see you now
I've been running so long on the same old ground
Gonna rattle these chains till the morning light
If I ever loved once, you know
I never loved right
It's a strange thing to see you here
If the world don't mine, yeah you better leave the keys
Gonna rattle these chains till the morning light
If I ever loved once, you know
I never loved right
The song "Shine On" by Blitzen Trapper tells a story of a man who runs into a woman he used to love. As they catch up, the man realizes that he never loved this woman right and that their love was never meant to be. The opening lines of the song introduce the encounter between the man and the woman. The man sees the woman standing by his car, and they begin to talk. The woman tells the man that she moved back to her hometown, and the man reveals that he has been wasting his time at his sister's place.
As the song progresses, the man thinks back on their relationship and how he never loved the woman right. He feels regret for how things turned out between them. The woman reveals to him that she met someone new and wants to explore the possibility of finding real love. The man continues to ruminate on his past mistakes and failed relationships. The song ends with the suggestion that the man should leave and move on from the encounter.
In conclusion, "Shine On" is a poignant tale about lost love and regrets. The song captures the complexity of relationships and how love, despite trying, can still be elusive.

I heard Blitzer trapper in Boise idaho. The red haired guitarist took the time to talk with me and Kurt after the show. He and his wife sold their house to make the record that got them their real start. I was floored by their music and that guys personability and politeness to take the time to speak with us. these guys are the real deal. Thanks guys for the inspiration.

These guys are very talented and I am still having trouble understanding why their videos have so little views lol. I think they sound better than actually quite a few popular artists.
