Despite my feelings of the War Campaign story and what happened to Sylvanas, I will never deny this cinematic hyped me up so much for this expansion and is honestly superb. The emotion the crowd had the reveal was phenomenal (I was not at Blizzcon, but I did see videos) and the chills I get when Sylvanas yells "For the Horde!" as well as The Horde and Alliance charging at each other at then end was incredible.

Battle for Azeroth will go down in WoW history as a reviled and sometimes loathed expansion, a twisting winding mess of Azerite, broken storylines, old gods and endless grind... Yet, this cinematic remains pure to me. It is possibly the best expansion cinematic to me, because it just captures the war so perfectly in a moment in time.

The team who made the cinematic know what they are doing especially the "For the Horder" shout scene.
The setup, the action, and most importantly the timing is really perfectly done and it deserves to be in Master Class 101 on how to make an impactful scene and Blizzard needs to assemble a team to make a full-length movie with this Master Class Story Telling and Animation.
BUT... on the other hand, the game itself is... well...

Your opinion doesn't really invalidate the point the OP is making though but, to each their own. I like Square Enix for their animation but, they never go out of their way for the inspirational or the grandeur that often which is a shame given their technical expertise. Plus, most of their games as of late have been lacking so even with an amazing animation team and the body of work they've produced I still prefer Blizzard for now when it comes to storytelling meeting cinematic animation.

Agreed. They have that Zack Snyder grandeur cinematic style of animation down perfectly for their trailers which is nice given the fact they have to be enticing to make a potential fan or even older fans want to spend their lives in a time sink like the World of Warcraft. I love the game, despite the butchering of their own lore at times, and if they can actually deliver on some legacy servers I might end up playing again.

i haven't made a comment on any cinematics but this one, I was there, in the stream along with the chat. I saw the chilling yet exciting reveal of Classic and i also witnessed this. This cinematic for me is one of the best things in 2017, finally had a girlfriend, was getting my grades straight, had my circle of friends online and irl, the fact i had someone to play with the second i logged on was amazing. Raiding in the guild Probably AFK gave me the same feeling as this cinematic. yeah there were two sides fighting against each other but the unity of each faction felt like a family. If you were in the stream while this was playing you get the feeling i'm talking about either when yelling "for the horde/alliance" or in the end when everyone was charging.

Love how Anduin accepts the fact that he is not his father and drops his father's sword and takes on the role that he knows is his own, as a healer.

SinisterSin I think this is more of an experimental phase for him. He is seen in books using judgment and before he put the sword down he used the light to strike and obliterate that troll and his shield. If anything he is realizing the balance of power needed between defensive, healing and offensive.

After this upcoming expac I believe we will see him more like a paladin than anything else.

Best expansion cinematic to date. The clear references to the very original WoW cinematic are perfect, but more importantly the cinematic is just start to finish packed full of the playable races and classes performing recognisable abilities. Seeing the line up of dwarven hunters, the Draenei paladin, the highborne mages... it was so good.

After these years, to be honest looking back on this cinematic, I think this expansion would have been a sort of closure for WoW. The whole scene is set around just the two factions fighting against each other, like in Vanilla, or the first two RTS. Like the circle is complete, we are back where we began: Alliance and Horde. I can't understand why they had to change this neverending cycle to this mess with Sylvanas :I

I just don't know how they will continue with Shadowlands. How are they going to handle this totally new lore, and characters? (I have a bad feeling about this...)

The way Blizzard presented Anduin since Vanilla until today is the smartest things they could have done. They created this child during Vanilla who was there among everything but didnt know what the heck was going on and now he is this powerful young man who has seen all that has happened ever since and he is called to stand up the things in such a way. They made somebody we can relate to as a hero in this game. They practically made, us.
