(Abrahams had a major falling out with Tull leader Ian Anderson.) Blodwyn Pig consisted of Abrahams (guitar and vocals), Jack Lancaster (saxophone), Andy Pyle (bass guitar), and Ron Berg (drums).
The band recorded two albums: Ahead Rings Out (1969) and Getting to This (1970). Both reached the lower half of the British top ten. On the first album they played a heavy blues-rock rooted in the British 1960s R'n'B scene from which sprang groups like the Yardbirds, Free, and eventually Led Zeppelin, but Blodwyn Pig had a different twist on the genre thanks to Lancaster's sax being so prominent in the mix, which led them to more creative sixties underground jazz-influenced music on the second. The single "Summer Day" from Ahead Rings Out failed to chart.

Great band. Great song. Full wall of sound. Always loved these guys. Played them in a band back in the 60's. So far ahead of everything they fell through the cracks. Will always appreciate their contribution to music.

Great psychedelic music đ¶đ¶ here.

Hey, we covered their songs as well. Great band!

In the early 70s Blodwyn Pig (particularly this track) got a fair bit of airplay on underground rock stations in the US, such as KSHE (which even borrowed their "pig head with earphones and a cigarette" image as a station logo)...but yeah, this track is stellar and deserved far more success.

gardensofthegods they are great. I thought I knew music. I never heard them until a friend started playing them in the mid 80s. I was into jethro Tull since childhood and loved listening to this particular album and song. Barely heard much by Wishbone Ash who l loved as a kid. Same friends had all of their albums.

Very sad that they didn't get the recognition they deserved too.. specially in America and I remember hearing this as a kid a long long time ago and knowing these guys were truly excellent with this song and also the CHANGE SONG

Abrahams was a very underrated guitarist. Always loved his work. If you hear this, and like it, go to Blodwyn Pig, Blue Café, All Said And Done. You'll hear some great slide guitar.
KID JACKSON
Such a cool song!
