I Love You More Than Ever
Blood Sweat And Tears Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

If I ever leave you
You can say I told you so
And if I ever hurt you babe
You know I hurt myself as well

Is that any way for a man to carry on
D'you think he wants his little loved one gone?
I love you baby, more than you'll ever know
More than you'll ever know

When I wasn't makin' too much money
You know where my paycheck went
You know I brought it home to baby
And I never spent one red cent

Is that any way for a man to carry on
D'you think he wants his little loved one gone?
I love you baby, more than you'll ever know
More than you'll ever know

I'm not tryin' to be
Any kind of man
I'm tryin' to be somebody
You can love, trust, and understand
I know that I can be, yeah
A part of you that no one else could see
I just gotta hear, to hear you say
It's all right
Yeah, yeah, yeah

I'm only flesh and blood
But I could be anything that you demand
I could president of General Motors baby, heh
Or just a tiny little grain of sand

Is that any way for a man to carry on
D'you think he wants his little loved one gone?
I love you baby, I love you baby
I love you baby, more than you'll ever know

If I ever leave you
You can say I told you so
And if I ever hurt you
You know I hurt myself as well

Is that any way for a man to carry on
D'you think he wants his little loved one gone?
I tried to tell ya I love you baby, I love you baby, yeah
I love you more than you'll ever know, ooh, yeah, yeah

I love you, I love you, I love you baby
Well all right!
I told ya so many times before
I love you
I love you, I love you
If you don't know, then I'll tell ya one more time

I love you!
I love you!

This was a fantastic band. I bought the "vinyl album" and wore it out! I'm 74 and it brings wonderful memories of back then at Santa Monica Beach in California with my friends when it was okay to have BBQ's on the beach and drinks. No cops freedom moonlit nights geez what the hell happened to those days????

@kategarcia4301

Yep, I was in Half Moon CA. Montero beach. All good. Playland the Cliff House.

@jackarcher7495

We got old, Marcia.

What happened to those days? You all got lazy, fat, complacent, and started to take the right to vote lightly. The corporate-politicians gleefully took over the decision making and perverted the institutions that informed and held them accountable, and had also created a middle class. They divided the nation, and it has been a slow steady ride downhill for the 'middle class', but a bonanza for the established wealthy and the nouveau rich.

Apology for the tirade. Please understand that for younger generations, facing the consequences of your generations actions and a dark future in just about every area of existance, these rhetorical questions underscore the problem.

Big government in California is what happened. The nanny state, power and greed.

B, S, & T at it's best.. with David Clayton-Thomas, they turned the band into jazz rock.
