And you're in the middle of love
Hey diddle diddle
Your heart is a fiddle for love
Over the moon that swings
In a preposterous sky
You'll see a cow with wings
Cause of the love in your eyes
You sit & twiddle
You're caught in the middle of love
Hot as a griddle
That is what is the middle of love
Whenever you fight that urge
Let that old blood pressure surge
Be like a kitten
Be happy you did it for love
Life is a riddle
And you're in the middle of skoo doody doo
Hey diddle diddle
Your heart is a fiddle for love
Over the moon that swings
In a preposterous sky
You'll see a cow with wings
Cause of the love in your eyes
You sit & twiddle
You're caught in the middle of skoo doody doo
Hot as a griddle
That is what is the middle of love
Whenever you fight that urge
Let that old blood pressure surge
Be like a kitten
Be happy you did it for love
No one forbid it
You better get with it
You're in the middle of
Love
The song "The Middle of Love" by Blossom Dearie refers to the feeling of being in love and how it can be confusing and sometimes hard to resist. The song starts by saying that life is a riddle and that being in love puts you in the middle of it. The line "Hey diddle diddle, your heart is a fiddle for love" represents how the heart can be played like an instrument when in love. The lyrics then describe a fantastical scene of a cow with wings flying over the moon, symbolizing the feeling of being swept up and overpowered by love.
The chorus repeats the message that being in love can be hot and intense (like a griddle), but also encourages the listener to give in to their passion ("Whenever you fight that urge, let that old blood pressure surge"). The song reminds the listener to be happy that they gave in to love, despite any obstacles. The repeating "skoo doody doo" throughout the song adds a whimsical and lighthearted tone, emphasizing the playful and fun aspects of love.
Overall, "The Middle of Love" is a whimsical and playful tribute to the confusing and intense feelings of being in love. It encourages the listener to give in to love and let themselves be happy, no matter the risks.

on Comment Allez Vous
(Parlez-vous Français?)
Mais oui, allons-y
(Parlez-vous chère madame?)
Comment allez vous? Fancy bumping into you
Comment allez vous? Tell me everything that's new
Are you happy are you sad?
Feeling good or feeling bad?
(and is there anything you're craving?)
(do you feel like misbehaving?)
Comment allez vous? Gee, it's nice to see you here
Comment allez vous? You look better every year
I was really on my way, but I had to stop and say:
Comment allez vous?
(Comment allez vous petit chou?)
Say it, it has 'savoir faire'
(Comment allez vous mon minou?)
Has a continental air
(once she heard it in the land, from a chinese laundry man)
Cloaks and suitors, by the oodles, say it to their cute french poodles
Comment allez vous?
Spaniards say it, so do Greeks
Comment allez vous?
In the desert, so do Sheiks
(show they know a thing or two)
(it's so easy, why can't you say?)
