Save This Town
Blue Foundation Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Where freedom makes the world go round
And where dreams are found
And carried out
Even in the afternoon
You can go there fishing for the moon
And the fairy lights
Come on save it
Come on save it
Every single one
Come on save it
Come on save this town
Growing from diversity
Out of true originality
It’s the place to be
And that’s why
I fear the need to standardise
And I fear the guys with normal eyes
It’s a precious child
Come give it a try
And we try
Every single one
Come on save it
Come on save this town
I know that we can’t save this town alone
So this is why I say
Come on and raise your voice
And spread these words around:
Come on save it
Come on save it
Every single one
Come on save it
Come on save this town
The song "Save This Town" by Blue Foundation is a call to arms for people to come together and protect the unique beauty of their home town from being lost to generic conformity. The singer beckons listeners to visit this vibrant and diverse community, where freedom and dreams are embraced and celebrated. Even in the quiet afternoon hours, the town is alive with possibilities, as one can go fishing for the moon and experience the magic of the twinkling fairy lights. The song emphasizes the need to preserve this enchanting place, as it is somewhere special and valuable.
However, the singer recognizes that preserving the town's uniqueness is a daunting task that cannot be accomplished alone. The fear of uniformity creeps in as the pressure to standardize everything grows, threatening to rob the town of its vitality. But the singer urges the community to join hands and work together to save the town from losing its identity. They encourage everyone to raise their voice and spread the message, so the town can remain a precious child with a unique identity that stands out in the world.
The song "Save This Town" embodies the idea of protecting what makes a place special and preserving its uniqueness. It is a powerful reminder to appreciate the beauty around us and to work together to protect it. The song's message resonates beyond just protecting physical spaces, but also preserving cultural identities and ways of life.
